Seth Rogen, co-creator of Preacher, revealed today that the show has been renewed for a third season and will return to AMC in 2018.
Tweeting out the news, Rogen's post states that the series will return for Season 3 in 2018, but there's no specific release date as of yet. Based on the cult comic book series by Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon, Preacher is a dark comedy with supernatural elements.
Dominic Cooper stars as the titular Preacher, whose real name is Jesse Custer. His character is inhabited by an entity known only as Genesis, which gives him the power to command people to do absolutely anything. The show has built an insane mythology that involves both heavenly and hellish characters.
Preacher stars Dominic Cooper as Jesse Custer, Joseph Gilgun as Cassidy, Ruth Negga Tulip O’Hare, Lucy Griffiths as Emily Woodrow, Ian Colletti as Eugene Root (aka Arseface), W. Earl Brown as Sheriff Hugo Root Tom Brooke and Anatol Yusef as the Adelphia angels Fiore and DeBlanc and Graham McTavish as The Saint of Killers.
