WARNING: The following article contains mild spoilers for an upcoming episode of AMC's Preacher.

How Agent Hoover of the Grail managed to survive training much less the years of service it must have taken to wind up directly serving Herr Starr is beyond us. (There are literally drunk cartoon animals that are more effective.) He's had one real job this season, and that's been to capture Cassidy so Herr Starr can use the vampire as bait to lure Jesse back into service.

Despite Cassidy either being intoxicated or unconscious for most of this season, Hoover has failed miserably at catching him. And, as this clip shows, that's not likely to change this Sunday during "The Tom/Brady."

Cassidy clearly gets the jump on Malcom Barrett's #fail of a kidnapper and uses Hoover to force Herr Starr into backing off. But really, the only reason Hoover's still alive is that his boss has been too busy to kill him, so really Cassidy just Starr solution instead of a threat. Maybe this is finally the moment Hoover realizes he needs to start looking for another job... or at least people who respect him enough to not staff out his murder.

Airing Sundays at 9 pm ET/PT on AMC, Preacher stars Dominic Cooper as Jesse Custer, Ruth Negga as Tulip and Joe Gilgun as Cassidy the Vampire, Pip Torrens as Herr Starr, Malcom Barrett as Hoover and Julie Anne Emery as Featherstone. Betty Buckley (Gran’ma), Colin Cunningham (T.C.), Jeremy Childs (Jody), and John Coyne (Allfather D’Arronique) also join the cast.
