Fans got a glimpse at Apocalypse's involvement in Jonathan Hickman's X-Men relaunch on the cover to House of X #5, with the villain walking through a swampy marsh as the sun sets behind him, which could play into his "Survival of the fittest" mantra.

The woman believed to be Moira MacTaggert was featured prominently on Marvel's first piece of promotional art for House of X and Powers of X, as she sat on a bench next to Charles Xavier in the center of the artwork by Mark Brooks. They are also surrounded by many of the heroes and villains from the X-Men franchise. It is also worth noting that Apocalypse is positioned right behind Moira on the promotional art, perhaps as a clue to their upcoming romance.
