Anyone who has watched or read Dragon Ball knows that the Saiyans are incredibly powerful, even before they level up into Super Saiyan modes. Vegeta, as possibly the second most powerful Saiyan behind Goku, though even that could be argued, can reach even more powerful levels than the earlier Super Saiyan levels, particularly with his Super Saiyan God mode.

There aren’t many characters who could beat him in this mode, either in Dragon Ball or in anime at large. Some could definitely give him a run for his money, though, using the kinds of power available in other universes and anime worlds.

10 Could Defeat: Yusuke Urameshi (YuYu Hakusho)

Yusuke Urameshi releases his Spirit Gun in Yu Yu Hakusho

Yusuke is a normal high school kid until he dies saving a child and becomes linked to the spirit world. But even before this happens, he is a formidable fighter with a great deal of physical strength. After his death, he also has access to powerful spiritual weapons, making him an even stronger opponent. But ultimately, Vegeta’s training and maxing out of his power would make it difficult for even a strong fighter to get back up after some of his blows.

9 Couldn’t: Tetsuo Shima (Akira)

Tetsuo Shima’s powers aren’t physical but instead are telekinetic. This would give him a huge advantage in a fight with just about anyone, but especially with someone like Vegeta, who is fast and powerful. Tetsuo wouldn’t necessarily need to fight physically himself; he could use objects around him as weapons and to defend and block attacks. Ultimately, this fight would be a matter of wearing Vegeta down, since he wouldn’t be able to maintain Super Saiyan God forever, and going in for the finishing blow.

8 Could Defeat: Monkey D. Luffy (One Piece)

Angry Luffy One Piece

Luffy is the main protagonist of One Piece, and he’s often determined in battle to win in order to support his friends and protect his dream of becoming King of the Pirates. He also has the use of the Devil Fruit, which allows him to stretch his body and limbs incredibly far.

But he’s ultimately not terribly strong, and he’s not a fighter by trade the way some of the other members of the Straw Hat crew are. Vegeta’s superior strength and speed would probably wipe Luffy out easily.

7 Couldn’t: All Might (My Hero Academia)

All Might no longer has the powers that he once did, as he passed his Quirk onto Deku, giving him the chance to be a powerful hero himself. But at the height of his power as a hero, All Might was the number one hero and was defeating guys left and right. While at his normal power level, Super Saiyan God Vegeta is probably stronger, All Might has the ability to send out a max strike, forcing all of his power into one blow, which anybody would be hard-pressed to walk away from.

6 Could Defeat: Ichigo Kurosaki (Bleach)

bleach ichigo kurosaki

Ichigo is a pretty formidable Shinigami in Bleach, and the skills run in his family. But he’s also fairly new to the vocation, and even after several years, he’s still not quite as experienced as some of the other Shinigami he faces or works with in the series. Vegeta on the other hand has been training all his life to be a warrior. He’s faced off with incredibly powerful adversaries, and in Super Saiyan God mode, not even Ichigo’s highest power levels would keep Vegeta from wiping the floor with him.

5 Couldn’t: Natsu Dragneel (Fairy Tail)

Natsu Dragneel is one of the more powerful sorcerers in the Fairy Tail guild. He’s a dragon summoner, which means that he has actual dragons at his disposal for battle. Vegeta is no stranger to dragons, but he’s never had one on his side before in a battle.

Natsu has also shown a lot of physical strength, on top of his magical abilities, and his endurance is very high, as is his stamina. He and Vegeta would be pretty evenly matched on a battlefield, even with Vegeta in God mode.

4 Could Defeat: Naruto Uzumaki (Naruto)

Naruto in Sage of Six Paths mode in Naruto.

Naruto is likely the most powerful character in the series, at least when it comes to raw power. And as he trains, he does become an even more formidable opponent because he’s able to harness so much of that power. However, Vegeta’s power is literally called “Super Saiyan God.” Even with a fox demon inside of him, Naruto’s power couldn’t possibly match up to Vegeta’s, when Vegeta is likely unable to be beaten by very many people currently on Earth.

3 Couldn’t: Alucard (Hellsing)

Alucard is remarkably powerful in Hellsing. He has pretty much every ability that a person could possibly think of, and that makes him extraordinarily difficult to fight and almost impossible to kill. His endurability and stamina are so high that Vegeta would probably run out of steam before even putting a dent in his defenses. Plus, he’s practically immortal, and it’s not clear if there’s anything that can truly kill him.

2 Could Defeat: Father (Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood)

full metal alchemist father

Father is a ridiculously powerful character in Brotherhood who is able to take on pretty much an entire army and every powerful alchemist in the world in the climax of the series. But ultimately, he loses to a pair of teenagers, mostly because they were better people and had made better choices and better friends who were willing to do anything for them. Vegeta’s support system, along with his incredible physical strength, would likely give him the same kind of power against Father, who would ultimately be no match for him.

1 Couldn’t: Saitama (One Punch Man)

Fans of One Punch Man have seen Saitama defeat so many monsters and fellow heroes with literally one strike. It’s the great dismay of Saitama’s life that he hasn’t been able to find many opponents that give him a real fight. Vegeta would likely be a real battle for Saitama, since he has incredible endurance and is able to take a lot of punishment. But Saitama’s track record against powerful opponents speaks for itself; he would likely lay Vegeta out and level up in the process.
