What is better than five Power Rangers - the answer is six Power Rangers. With that simple math, the concept of the sixth Ranger is born. Tommy Oliver was the very first sixth Ranger, and his continued popularity among the fandom is a testament to how big of a deal the sixth Ranger was at the time. The Green Ranger saga is some of the most well-received episodes in the original run of Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers, and since then every proceeding season with a new Power Rangers team has had a sixth Ranger. Sixth Ranger is more of an all-encompassing term used by fans to ascribed to Rangers that join the main team later in the season. Even if the main team starts with more or less than five Rangers, usually any Rangers that join later are often labeled as the Sixth Ranger.

Power Rangers Lightspeed Rescue was based on the Super Sentai series Kyukyu Sentai GoGoFive. Thus, the Titanium Ranger was born. The Titanium Ranger real name is Ryan Mitchell, and he was taken away from his family by demons in a "deal with the devil" type of situation. He ends up fighting against the rangers several times and was able to keep up with them, showing off his immense powers.

He then switched to the light side and became one of the strongest Sixth Rangers in the series.

In his normal ranger form, Trent is able to transform into his powerful Super Dino Mode, which gives him giant spikes. As a civilian, Trent has the superpowers of camouflage and super speed.
