WARNING: The following contains spoilers for Mighty Morphin Power Rangers #50 by Ryan Parrott, Daniele Di Nicuolo, and Walter Baiamonte, on sale now.

After spending the last few months in the "Necessary Evil" storyarc, the Power Rangers latest' epic just finished up, but not before it made some surprising reveals. The battle against Kiya, Garrison, Dayne, and the Anointed gave the Omega Rangers all they could handle and more. This forced the Power Rangers to head to Safe Haven in Tommy's Tiger Zord in order to back up the Omega Rangers to save the Morphin Grid. Kiya is a former Omega Ranger who turned on the Rangers because she couldn't forgive or trust Tommy for what Lord Drakkon did. Tommy swears that wasn't him, but it isn't good enough for Kiya, who unleashes the full force of her Morphin Grid resources and her Anointed forces on the Rangers.

In Mighty Morphin Power Rangers #50, most of the Power Rangers' Megazords are out of commission after a fight they had with Dayne. Garrison Vox is piloting Kiya's Blue Omega Zord and is giving the Omega Rangers all they can handle until Tommy tapped in with his Tiger Zord to save the day. Shortly after Tommy shows up, Jason tells him the Omega Zords were designed with the special ability to combine with any other Zord, which allows them to create the Red Tiger Zord.

The White Tiger Zord is one of the most powerful Zords in the Rangers' armada. It's so powerful that Tommy had trouble controlling after Zordon first gave it to him. The Tiger Zord has two modes -- a tiger mode and a warrior mode, which makes it similar to a giant transformer. Tiger Mode is the Zord's main form. It can move incredibly fast and is great for travel. Warrior mode allows the Zord to wield a sword and battle Lord Zedd's giant monsters in hand to hand combat.

On the other hand, the Red Omega Zord is Jason's newest Zord. The Omega Zords debuted in Ryan Parrott, Daniele Di Nicuolo and Walter Baiamonte's Mighty Morphin Power Rangers #40. While Power Zords are regularly based on animal anatomy, the Omega Zords have an elemental alien design to match the aesthetic of their Omega armor. The Omega Rangers are based on alchemical aliens powered from fire, earth, wind, and water. These Zords are incredibly adaptable and enhance other Zords by bonding with them and essentially becoming a sort of elemental power armor.

The Red Tiger Zord has a wicked demeanor featuring a sleek battle armor with sharp red arm blades and a long crimson energy blade. The Red Tiger Zord combines the speed of the Tiger Zord with the strength and adaptability of the Omega Zords. Garrison may have had an upper hand while fighting other Omega Zords, but quickly meets his match when battling this brand new Zord fusion. The Red Tiger Zord unleashes a deadly three-strike combo that destroys Kiya's Zord in the blink of an eye. Jason and Tommy finish the fight with the Red Tiger Blade and slice Garrison's Zord completely in half.

However, as strong as the Red Tiger Zord is, even it falls in battle to an army of Anointed warriors. They swarm the Red Tiger Zord and cripple its systems like ants taking out much larger prey. While ultimately defeated, the Red Tiger Zord's grand entrance opens up a brand new world of Zord fusion possibilities. The Omega Zords can combine with any other Zord, which assumingly means the Mega Zord as well. Since this issue ends with the return of Lord Zedd and the dark Lord Drakkon, it's incredibly likely the Omega and Power Zords will have to combine once again if they want to have a chance of defeating the coming threats.
