WARNING: The following contains major spoilers for Power Rangers Drakkon: New Dawn #3 by Anthony Burch, Simone Ragazzoni, Raul Angulo, and Ed Dukeshire, on sale now.

While the world that was once ruled by Lord Drakkon is no longer trapped under his brutal reign, that world's Kimberly, the Ranger Slayer, and it's other remaining heroes are the only thing that stands between it and totoal chaos. The city is crumbling underneath an ever-growing Eclipta, and Jason has left everyone else powerless against the alien threat. While Jason reminisces on the team's days as the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, nobody else is convinced that walking down memory lane is going to do any good. However, Jason has just given Kimberly the best idea for stopping Eclipta as well as the infighting happening on the streets. She's going to show everyone just how powerful the Power Coins really are.

Jason is convinced that putting the band back together is the way to go. He openly wishes that he could have full access to the Morphin Grid all to himself, which doesn't sit well with Kimberly. She asks him if he realizes that he sounds like Drakkon, which hits Jason very close to home. Zack and Trini refuse to take their Power Coins back for themselves, and Scorpina is unable to control herself from swinging between violently aggressive and depressed beyond comprehension. The whole situation is truly one of the most emotionally charged in the series, but Jason's train of thought has given Kim an idea. She doesn't want to hoard the Power Coins, and she doesn't want to give the Sentries back their powers either. Instead, she wants to push the Coins to their absolute limit. Kimberly is going to connect everyone in the city to the Morphin Grid.

By retrofitting the blaster from the incomplete Black Dragon Zord, they are able to build a new Diffuser for their Power Coins. Kimberly even gives up her own Power Coin to make sure that everyone has every possible advantage in the ongoing battle against Eclipta. They don't have access to their Zords, and they don't even have their own citizens all on the same side.

But as the Diffuser activates and begins dispersing the Power Coins energy throughout the city, the team is transformed into the Shattered. Sporting bits and pieces from all four of the Ranger suits their new powers are coming from, the odds are most certainly in their favor now. Scorpina is even outfitted with tattered red wings atop her armored should plates, remarking that "This is how the other half lives."

Kimberly tells the newly dubbed Shattered that the infighting between them when they were separated between Ranger Sentries and Coinless was her fault, all while the massive Eclipta towers over, moving towards the city from behind her. She reminds everyone that they are o longer the servants of Drakkon, but are now The Shattered. That rallying cry is all it takes to get every last person behind the same cause and on the same team.

As The Shattered open fire on Eclipta, the monster mocks them, but they continue to swarm the giant. Kimberly even compares the Shattered to ants as they swarm up Eclipta's limbs. Scorpina flies up to Eclipta's face and stabs her in the eye while the monster is distracted, showing off exactly what her newfound powers are capable of and knocking Eclipta off balance in an instant.

The united powers of the four Power Coins that were left pulsing through the Shattered have not only turned the tide of the battle, but they've outright won it. The merged costumes and armors are a sight to behold on their own, but the fact that they made such a daunting task into an easy win is truly incredible.

The Power Rangers have never been shy about using their powers in unusual combinations, especially with Mega Zords and throughout their fight against Drakkon. But here, the Ranger Slayer has pooled the team's collective resources in a way that the Power Coins have never done before, and it opens the floodgates with new possibilities for the kinds of forces the Rangers can marshal.
