As of 2021, the Power Rangers franchise is 28 years old. In its lifetime, fans have been introduced to many notable, loved, and respected Rangers. These particular Rangers have earned respect in a variety of ways including garnering a healthy reputation among their fellow Rangers, by sacrificing themselves for the greater good, or by forging a legacy that no other Ranger can quite match.
These Rangers have not only gained respect from other Rangers but from fans as well. Because of this, these respected Rangers have cemented their place in Power Rangers' history, paving a path for future Rangers to follow.
10 Casey Rhodes: In his first appearance on Jungle Fury, he stood up to his superior & defended his peers
Like other memorable Red Rangers, Casey Rhodes never expected—nor wanted—to become the Red Ranger. He was thrust into the situation by his mentor, Master Mao, who saw potential in him. Rhodes was a new recruit at the Pai Zhua Academy and worked as a towel boy for the more senior members. After witnessing Jarrod (who later becomes the villain Dai Shi) bully and haze a younger new recruit, Rhodes stands up against Jarrod, calling him out on his arrogance and pride.
Even before becoming a Ranger, Rhodes exhibited the traits of a great caring leader. In the face of immediate danger, he stood up for himself and the others around him, gaining respect from his peers and his master.
9 Carter Grayson: He was a firefighter before becoming a Power Ranger
Prior to his time as the Red Lightspeed Ranger, Carter Grayson was a firefighter. Carter had the dedication and urge to save lives even before getting his powers, endangering himself to rescue others. Without his powers he's great, but with his powers, he's even better.
He has natural leadership qualities, because of his firefighting experience, and respects his role and duty as a Power Ranger. Grayson sees being a Ranger as a career, a respectable mindset for any Ranger, let alone a Red Ranger.
8 Taylor Earhardt: Was the leader of the Wild Force Rangers before they got a Red Ranger
Taylor Earhardt, the Yellow Wild Force Ranger, was the first leader of the Wild Force Rangers before the team got a Red Ranger. Although she could be strict, she ran the team well. It was organized and everyone knew where their place was on the team. She was a good leader who was dedicated to the task and to her fellow Rangers.
This comes as no surprise as she was a pilot in the Air Force before landing on Animarium and meeting Princess Shayla, becoming the first to gain her Wild Force Powers. She doesn't get the respect she deserves, since the attention is usually on the Red Wild Force Ranger, but her time as leader, though short, earned her a place amongst the most respected of Power Rangers.
7 T.J. Johnson: Was willing to become the Blue Space Ranger despite previously being the Red Turbo Ranger
T.J. was hand-picked by Tommy Oliver to become the next Red Turbo Ranger, a feat that no other Ranger can flaunt. Impressing Tommy is no easy task, and so this achievement has already earned him much respect. But besides this, he was a great Red Ranger and his fellow Rangers often looked up to him.
When he went into space and met Andros, T.J. became his second in command, thereby becoming the Blue Space Ranger. He was willing to give up his leadership position for the greater good, something not many Rangers would be willing to do.
6 Wesley "Wes" Collins: He was willing to sacrifice himself to save the future
Wes Collins, the Red Time Force Ranger, had strong character development. At the start of the Time Force season, he was a rich and pampered young man who didn't really have a purpose in life. Underneath his money and pride though, he was a driven individual who wanted to prove himself to his father.
In the season finale, with his fellow Time Force Rangers back in the future, he and his childhood friend/rival Eric Myers defended the Earth against all odds. He was destined to die in the episode and accepted his fate, like any Power Ranger would. Luckily, he did manage to save the Earth, becoming a new man in the process.
5 Andros: Destroyed Zordon in order to save the Earth
In order to save Earth and the rest of the galaxy, Andros was forced to sacrifice his mentor and friend, Zordon. Under Zordon's instruction, Andros shattered his energy tube, releasing a wave of good energy across the galaxy, destroying all the villains of seasons' past. Killing off one of the most iconic characters in the franchise is no easy endeavor, but Andros handled the situation perfectly.
Because of this, he gained much respect from the citizens of Earth and from his teammates. Even Leo, the Red Galaxy Ranger, knew of his actions.
4 Jason Lee Scott: Being the first, he is an exemplary Red Ranger
Jason was the first Red Power Ranger, and because of this, he set a precedent for future Red Rangers. Unbeknownst to some fans, he was a bully when he was younger. After realizing the errors in his ways, he started a new life path, taking up karate and befriending his future teammates, Zack, Trini, Kimberly, and Billy.
As a Ranger, he is one of the best, having been both the Red Mighty Morphin Ranger and the Gold Zeo Ranger. His dedication to being a Power Ranger and his natural fighting skills have earned him much respect from fans and teammates alike.
3 Adam Park: A veteran ranger with a huge legacy
Adam's experience as a Power Ranger rivals that of Tommy, which is saying something. He's been on three different versions of the team and fought countless villains. For a non-Red Ranger, gaining this type of experience is unheard of. Adam is even famous among modern Rangers and fans, which goes to show the impact he's had on the franchise.
He is a respectable martial artist who's always been there to give a helping hand to his fellow Rangers, even if he doesn't have his powers. His legacy as a Ranger has deservingly gained him much respect over the years.
2 Kendrix Morgan: She actually died to save Terra Venture & her fellow rangers
Locked in a battle against the infamous Pink Psycho Ranger, the Pink Space Ranger, Cassie, loses her Morpher and is depowered. Taking the opportunity to destroy her space powers once and for all, the Pink Psycho Ranger attempts to destroy her Morpher. Kendrix Morgan, the Pink Lost Galaxy Ranger, jumps in and helps Cassie defeat the Pink Psycho Ranger, saving Cassie, Terra Venture, and her teammates, sacrificing herself in the process.
In "The Power of Pink," Kendrix dies, marking the first official death in the Power Rangers franchise. As a spirit, she then gives her powers to Karone, formerly Astronema. By actually sacrificing herself, she became one of the most respected Rangers in all of the franchise.
1 Tommy Oliver: A legendary Power Ranger who's been part of the franchise since the beginning
Tommy Oliver is perhaps the most famous and respected Power Ranger of all time. He's been on board since the beginning of the franchise, working his way from villain to ally to leader of the Power Rangers. Despite being known as the leader of the Power Rangers though, he's played practically every role on the team.
He's become the poster boy for the Power Rangers for good reason and paved a legacy for himself that no other Ranger can or will match. Being a Power Ranger has always seemingly been his destiny.
