The former Black Ranger has spoken out about the new Power Rangers reboot.Ludi Lin, who played Zack in the 2017 film, took to Twitter to express his excitement over the recently announced Power Rangers project and made it clear he harbors no ill will toward any sort of continuation of the property without him.

The new reboot, rumored to involve a time travel element that sees a group of kids being sent back to the 1990s, is currently eyeing The End of the F***ing World director Jonathan Entwistle to take the reigns of the franchise and make it more kid-friendly compared to the recent 2017 film.

Although not confirmed, reports point to a completely new cast of characters, which Lin seems to support in his tweet. While news of a reboot is sudden, it's not unexpected. Hasbro bought the property from Saban in 2018 with plans to bring the franchise back to the big screen sooner rather than later. Bringing Entwistle into the fold would pair him with writer Patrick Burleigh, who wrote the upcoming Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway.

The 2017 reboot's cast included Dacre Montgomery (Stranger Things), Naomi Scott (Aladdin), RJ Cyler (Scream) and Becky G, with supporting roles for Bryan Cranston (Breaking Bad) and Elizabeth Banks (Pitch Perfect). Although the actors were generally well-received in their roles, the movie, produced by Lionsgate, only grossed $142 million worldwide off a $100 million budget and was considered a major box office bomb.
