WARNING: The following contains major spoilers for Power Rangers #11, available now from Boom! Studios.

The Power Rangers have come through some truly incredible battles as of late, but they still are unprepared for the battles that they are about to face. While the Mighty Morphin team back on Earth prepares themselves for an Eltarian invasion courtesy of those they believed to be their newest allies, the Omega Rangers out in the cosmos are making startling discoveries of their own.

Not only have the space-faring heroes just found their last living god, they've also uncovered another shocking truth about the world around them and the Zeo Crystal's place in it in Power Rangers #11, by Ryan Parrott, Francesco Mortarino, Raul Angulo, Jose Enrique Fernandez, and Ed Dukeshire.

The Omega Rangers' search for some means of staving off the Empyreal threat has brought them to what seems like the edge of empty space, though they know there is more to this place than meets the eye. In fact, a small, desolate world there is home to the Yellow Emissary, the final remaining member of the Emissaries Three and the Rangers' last hope of overcoming their latest enemies. Unfortunately, the Emissary isn't interested in taking part in the fight, and they've resigned themselves to a devastating fate at the hands of the Empyreals that. That doesn't mean the Emissary has completely turned their back on the Omegas, though, and the heroes' last remaining deity is happy to explain the intricacies of the situation to them while it can. Much like the Rangers back on Earth, the Omegas are just learning how treacherous the Guardians of Eltar truly are.

As the Yellow Emissary explains how its own kind and the Empyreals are connected, readers are given a glimpse at Supreme Guardian Zartus exerting his will over these menacing new threats. From the looks of things, the Empyreals are commanded by the Zeo Crystal, and they also seem to draw some of their power from it. This artifact has become an iconic part of Power Rangers lore since its introduction in the original series, though there is no indication that it will give birth to a new team of Rangers just yet. Instead, it seems as though the Zeo Crystal is the conduit through which Zartus controls the Empyreals and possibly even the thing that allowed them into the Power Rangers' universe after the deaths of the Emissaries.

Considering the Zeo Crystal caused the gruesome transformation of Zophram into Lord Zedd, there is likely untold power still held within it. Assuming Zartus hasn't seen to it that the Zeo Crystal proves fatal to anyone else who attempts to wield it, it might just be the best way for the Power Rangers to stop the Empyreals in their tracks.

If the Zeo Crystal truly is the way to control the Empyreals, getting ahold of it would put the Power Rangers on top of the proverbial food chain, assuming they can figure out its power for themselves. Of course, getting ahold of it won't be easy, but they do have an old friend with even older knowledge of the Zeo Crystal in the form of Zordon himself. He might not be a Guardian of Eltar anymore, but Zordon's experiences as one certainly hold value, especially those surrounding Bandora Palace and the Zeo Crystal's place there. If the Omegas can rebuild the bridges they burned between themselves and their terrestrial allies, they might have just uncovered the only way left to save their universe.
