WARNING: The following contains spoilers for Power Rangers #2 by Ryan Parrott, Francesco Mortarino, Raul Angulo, and Ed Dukeshire, on sale now.

The Omega Rangers are sharing their spot between a rock and hard place with the last person in the universe they want to see. With as great a threat as the Empyreals pose, and unable to convince Zordon to release him to their custody, the Omega Rangers took it upon themselves to break Drakkon out of his cell.

Now, following the former tyrant's lead across the galaxy, the Omega Rangers are having some difficult conversations on top of everything else. Even with everything being thrown at them, the Omegas aren't wasting any time, and neither is Drakkon as he worms his way into the head of Trini, the Yellow Ranger.

While Jason and Xi discuss the Rangers' recent betrayal of Zordon, and their newfound status as outlaws, Trini escorts Drakkon to his new cell. Drakkon tries to strike up a friendly conversation with her, but Trini tells him that she isn't interested in his mind games. Drakkon seems as sincere as he can be, telling her that he admires her continuing kindness, something he believes her teammates have lost. He asks if she's willing to watch further planets fall to the Empyreals' campaign of genocide, ensuring that this is exactly what will happen if Trini doesn't take her rightful place at the helm of the team. Trini isn't buying it, though, and she leaves Drakkon in his cell to consider working with them as opposed to trying to weasel his way out of their mission.

It isn't surprising that Drakkon is looking for a way out, or at least trying to turn the Omegas against one another. So far, he has only be focused on his own survival since learning that the Empyreals had been unleashed. They were Drakkon's failsafe should he ever be deposed, and the Omega Rangers are all too familiar with what they're capable of, having watched only one of the beings destroy an entire world with ease. Surely Drakkon is aware of the threat that they pose as well, and while he's given the Omegas directions that are supposed to be helpful in their attempt to stop the impending invasion, there's no way to tell until they reach their destination. However long that takes, it's more than enough time for Drakkon to tug at any loose threads there are between the Rangers.

Hopefully, Drakkon's knowledge and experience can be put to good use before any serious damage can be done, but judging by the intangible space vampires known as the Horrid who have just taken control of the Omega Rangers' ship, that isn't likely. Their assault does give Trini a chance to showcase her better qualities, though, quickly analyzing the new foes and dumping them, along with herself, in the void of space.

If the Omega Rangers can survive this most recent attack, and the Empyreals, and whatever Zordon has coming for them, maybe Trini can talk to the rest of her team about what Drakkon had to say.
