WARNING: The following contains spoilers for Mighty Morphin Power Rangers #53 by Ryan Parrott, Moisés Hidalgo, Walter Baiamonte, Katia Ranalli and Ed Dukeshire, on sale now.

The newest threat to the Power Rangers have plenty of experience in fighting the heroes. The servants of Zedd have never been as powerful as they are now that they've become the Dark Rangers. On top of that boost, Zedd made sure to give the Dark Rangers an even more impressive tool.

Coming to Earth to directly witness his Dark Rangers fight the Power Rangers, Zedd uses the Green Chaos Crystal to unleash the Terrorzords - a slew of dangerous beasts that quickly attack the city.

After tricking the Power Rangers into using their Power Blaster to destroy a decoy Pschoslug to Earth, it was revealed that Zedd had hidden the Green Chaos Crystal inside the monster. Now fully charged by the Power Rangers blast, Zedd is able to use the Green Chaos Crystal to enhance the powers of his minions. Thanks to the crystal's ability to tap directly into the Morphin Grid, Zedd is able to grant Squatt, Baboo, Finister, and Goldar with the incredible power of the "Dark Rangers." This makes them near equals to the Power Rangers in strength and speed. He even creates a copy of Rita Repulsa out of a particularly strong putty, giving the team of villains their own Dark Red Ranger and leader.

While the Rita copy is quickly shown to be the most dangerous of these new Dark Rangers - with the new villain easily matching Tommy Oliver in combat and isolating him from his teammates - the other villains are still pushed into a corner by the heroes. While they can match them in combat, the Power Rangers have more than enough experience and luck to survive the attack and force most of the Dark Rangers behind cover. Exhausted, Zedd decides to use the Green Chaos Crystal again - this time creating the Terrorzords. These massive creatures are roughly the size of the giant animal-themed Zords, which have been utilized by the Power Rangers to contend with massive threats in the past.

While the Mega-Zords are robotic in nature and can thusly be piloted by the heroes, the Terrorzords appear to be more animalistic, attacking the city with a wild fury in the form of five massive beasts, all twisted and practically demonic in appearance: a pink pterodactyl, a blue centaur, a yellow bat, a black jackal, and a red dragon. While they can't be piloted by the villains, the monsters are far more dangerous as creatures going on an uncontrollable rampage. They immediately lash out across the local city, with the dragon blasting through a building and causing massive damage. On a level, this could be seen as a far more dangerous threat than the Dark Rangers just having massive robots that they could engage in battle against the heroes. Instead, these creatures are far more wild and unpredictable.

On top of this, Zedd's proximity to the fight will also enhance the abilities of the Dark Rangers, making them even more dangerous and deadly. The Power Rangers are quickly getting overwhelmed by their enemies, which might force the Power Rangers to make a difficult decision - namely, trusting the evil Tommy Oliver aka Lord Drakkon with the repaired Green Dragon Coin and empower him to become the new Green Ranger. But considering how powerful the Dark Rangers are, they might not have a choice in the matter.
