However, there are a lot of different positives and negatives to the television shows and the comics for the Rangers. This list will be looking at arguments from both sides of the court and showing why each is better.

10 Comics Are Better: Better Storylines

One thing that the comics do much better than the actual Power Rangers shows is the actual storylines. The comics are given full freedom to do whatever they want to do with new and old characters, presenting fewer limits on how the stories of the Rangers go.

While the shows sometimes surprise us with how deep plotlines can go, the comics feel like they're miles beyond them and are truly catering to those older fans of the Power Rangers, with smarter stories and stronger written characters.

9 Shows Are Better: The Action

One thing that one would be missing out on when it comes to reading the Power Rangers comics is the action that the Power Rangers are known for. One of the first things that fans of this long-running series always think of is the over the top sparks flying and explosions scattered throughout the battles.

It's even better when the characters show off their actual martial arts skills with a surprising hand-to-hand battle. That's just something that no comic could really capture no matter how good.

8 Comics Are Better: More Fanservice

If there's one thing that the Power Rangers comics know sells, it's nostalgia. Many Rangers fans in the west constantly hail the original Mighty Morphin Power Rangers series at the top of the mountain of Power Rangers series.

This is one thing that the comics take advantage of with constant throwbacks to the original Rangers. Of course, this leads to more focus on everyone's favorite overrated Ranger, Tommy, the Green and White Ranger.

7 Shows Are Better: Better Build Up

While the comics may have much better storylines they can't come close to the build-up that so many of the shows are sprinkled with. The shows progress in a way where the stakes seem to be stagnant along the way until some little instance comes up showing fans they're nearing the end of the series.

When this build-up reaches the ultimate climax with the Rangers finally going head to head with the final boss it truly makes the series worth it.

6 Comics Are Better: Completely Original

While the Power Rangers shows can have some great ideas they are very limited by one thing. They have to usually use pre-made Japanese footage from the original Super Sentai counterparts to their series.

In comparison, the comics are free to do absolutely whatever they want. This means that the comics can be the most original and refreshing Power Rangers experiences out there.

5 Shows Are Better: Less Fanservice

While some fanservice is always awesome, there comes a time where there is a bit too much of a good thing. This is a problem that the freedom of the Power Rangers comics constantly falls into.

While they are able to do just about anything they'd like to do in their storylines compared to that of the shows, they tend to do a lot of going back to the Mighty Morphin cast along with a lot of going back to other older Rangers. Once again, leading fans to read the 200th story about how Tommy is the "best" Ranger.

4 Comics Are Better: More Homage To The Classic Mmph

While a lot of the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers fanservice can be a bit grating to some fans, others absolutely love it. This is where the Power Rangers comics come in handy.

The comics show a lot of love to the classic series that started it all in the west, grabbing many fans right in the nostalgia.

3 Shows Are Better: They Are Actual Tokusatsu

One reason that many Power Rangers fans actually watch Power Rangers is because they are actual Tokusatsu series. Certain viewers aren't into this series because of the Rangers, but because of the genre.

Tokusatsu fans came before the Power Rangers even was created, starting with the Japanese Spider-Man or Supaidaman series. This brings many viewers over, due to the interest of the genre over the series.

2 Comics Are Better: They Are For Power Rangers Fans

As said earlier, the comics are their completely own thing. This series of Power Rangers media isn't taken from any pre-existing Super Sentai content at all besides the costumes the characters of the past wear.

This means that these comics are 100 percent made for the Power Rangers television show fans. They are able to throw in as much actual Rangers fanservice they like.

1 Shows Are Better: A Bit Easier To Get Into

While the comics may be great for Power Rangers fans that have already been acquainted with the television series of the same name, there's a lot that new fans starting with them will be missing.

Callbacks to old characters, jokes, and references to tropes, and other things will definitely be lost in translation. This is why the shows are so powerful. They're usually very separate and keep stories self-contained, leaving room for as many new fans interested as possible.
