The original White Ranger was first introduced in the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers TV series and was considered the seventh member of the team. Since then, some White Rangers have been introduced as their team's sixth, or "special," Ranger, while others have simply been a part of the core team.

Compared to other core Ranger colors, like Red, Pink, Black, Yellow, or Blue, White Rangers have appeared in the fewest TV series. Their appearances are scattered throughout the franchise, but that doesn't make them any less important. Many Power Rangers who've worn white are considered some of the greatest Rangers in the franchise.

10 Honorable Mention: Tommy Oliver As The White Ninja Ranger

Rocky, Tommy, Kimberly, And Billy In their Ninjetti costumes in the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Movie

Officially, there are only nine White Rangers who have appeared in Rangers TV shows, but the Mighty Morphin Rangers once acquired Ninja Ranger powers, morphing them into a very different Rangers team. The circumstances of how the Mighty Morphin team acquired their powers differs depending on what each fan deems "true canon."

In the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers movie, the team travels to the planet Phaedos to acquire the power of Ninjetti. In the TV series, the team loses their original Morphin abilities and seeks the aid of Ninjor, the being who originally crafted the Power Coins. For a time, Tommy led the Mighty Morphin team as the White Ninja Ranger.

9 Dominic Hargan Calls Upon The Jungle Fury Rhino Power

Beyond the Red, Blue, and Yellow Rangers, the Jungle Fury Rangers are identified as the animals they represent. The team features a Wolf Ranger, an Elephant Ranger, and more. Dominic Hargon is the series' Rhino Ranger, but he's technically considered a White Ranger.

Dom is quite the genius, but his goofy and immature attitude hides his intelligence. The other Rangers often overlook his capabilities and initially declined his request to join the team. Thankfully, when it counts, like in intense battles with Whirnado and Carnisoar, Dom shows his true skills as the Rhino Ranger.

8 Hayley Foster, Like All Ninja Steel Rangers, Is Very Powerful

Hayley Foster White Ranger

Considering Hayley's love of animals, and her adorable dog, Kody, it's a shame she wasn't in a Power Rangers series that emphasized animals, like Wild Force or Jungle Fury. Regardless, Hayley became the White Ninja Steel Ranger at the same time her boyfriend, Calvin, became the Yellow Ranger.

Nexus Prisms, devices that allow them to morph, glowed in front of them, and they saw their chance to become Rangers and grabbed them. All Ninja Steel Rangers have access to incredibly powerful forms like the Ninja Master upgrade and the Ninja Super Steel upgrade that allows them to access their Megazord's most powerful weapons.

7 The S.P.D. Omega Ranger Arrives From The Future

Power Rangers S.P.D. - S.P.D. Omega Ranger (Sam)

Power Rangers S.P.D. presents some pretty wild stories, even for this franchise. One of the strangest things to occur in S.P.D. is time travel. A young boy named Sam, who possesses natural powers like the ability to teleport objects, is recruited by the S.P.D. Rangers as a junior cadet.

Fifteen years in the future, an older version of Sam, one who would become the team's Omega Ranger, experiences a future where the S.P.D. Rangers were defeated. In an effort to change history, this older Sam travels back in time to join the present-day S.P.D. Rangers. Future technology grants Sam powerful weapons like the Omegamax Cycle and an Omega Morpher that increase his strength and speed.

6 Wild Force May Have Been Told Through Alyssa Enrilé's Eyes

Alyssa fights as the White Wild Force Ranger

Alyssa Enrilé is Wild Force's White Ranger. Like her teammates, she commands multiple Wildzords, including the White Tiger, Elephant, and Deer. Aside from her tiger-like agility and combat skills with a baton, Alyssa is considered the friendliest and most caring member of the Wild Force Rangers.

She is very understanding and nurturing which leads her to become a kindergarten teacher, as shown in Wild Force's finale, "The End of the Power Rangers." In that episode, Alyssa recants her adventures as a Power Ranger to her students in the form of a fairy tale. Alyssa's voice is the same as the narration voice heard throughout the series, implying that all of Wild Force may be seen through Alyssa's point of view.

5 Delphine Leads The Alien Aquitar Rangers

power rangers

The Alien Rangers first appeared in season three of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers after the Rangers of Earth lost their powers. The Earth Rangers left their post to retrieve the Zeo Crystals, forcing Zordon to temporarily enlist the help of the Alien Rangers. Delphine, like her fellow Alien Rangers, is a being from the planet Aquitar.

As the White Aquitar Ranger, she is the first female leader of any Rangers team seen onscreen. After Power Rangers Zeo, the Alien Rangers would appear several more times in crossover episodes like Space's "Countdown to Destruction" and Super Megaforce's "Legendary Battle."

4 Trent Fernandez-Mercer's White Dino Ranger Was Originally An Antagonist

The White Dino Ranger joins the Dino Thunder team

Unlike other Ranger morphers, the White Dino Gem morphs its user at random. When Trent Fernandez-Mercer discovers the gem in the lair of the evil Mesogog, he's unwittingly transformed into the White Dino Thunder Ranger.

Because he didn't receive his powers the same way the other Dino Thunder Rangers did, Trent serves as an anti-hero for much of the series, and an antagonist in the three-part episode "White Thunder." Though the other Rangers distrusted him at first, Trent was eventually invited to join the team. He would help the Rangers defeat Mesogog and fought alongside them in Ninja Storm and S.P.D. crossover episodes.

3 Kat Manx Is The S.P.D. Rangers' Artificer

The SPD Kat Ranger

Kat Manx is a humanoid who possesses cat-like features like large, furry ears. She primarily works out of S.P.D.'s Earth Delta Base where she leads research and development. She is the official artificer of the S.P.D. Rangers, creating new technology and weapons for them to use in their battle against the Troobian Empire.

Kat could be considered the White or Orange Ranger because of her costume design. She's been referred to as a White Ranger in comics, but an Orange Ranger in video games, so her classification remains ambiguous. Regardless, she is commonly referred to as the Kat Ranger and aids the S.P.D. team with a temporary morpher.

2 Udonna Recruited The Rest Of The Mystic Force Rangers

Udonna is the White Mystic Force Ranger

Udonna is an extremely powerful sorceress who lives in the Root Core. When an earthquake disrupts the Root Core, a magical seal containing the Forces of Darkness is broken, releasing waves of evil entities upon the world. Udonna morphs into the White Mystic Force Ranger and struggles to combat the vast army. She's forced to recruit a new team of Mystic Rangers.

Many things were different in Mystic Force: The "sixth Ranger," Udonna, was actually the first Ranger who found the rest, the Rangers relied on magic rather than alien technology, and the "mentor" of the team, Udonna in this case, directly aids her team in combat.

1 Tommy Oliver Harnesses The White Light Of Good

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers White Light Part 2

The two-part Mighty Morphin episode "White Light" explores the mysterious creation of a new Ranger. The original Mighty Morphin team has their suspicions, and concerns, about who this new Ranger could be, but their worries disappear when the Ranger is revealed to be Tommy Oliver, former Green Ranger.

In order to boost the team's power and put Rita's evil forces on their heels, Zordon harnesses the White Light of Good. This pure power ensures that Tommy can never again be corrupted by Rita. With Tommy's new White Ranger costume and abilities, he's also promoted to team leader where he would remain for many subsequent Rangers series.
