The latest trailer for the Power Rangers console fighting game, Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid, has revealed a fan-favorite villain will be an integral part of the upcoming release: Lord Drakkon.

The clip, which clocks in around one minute, features Zordon offering a warning to the Rangers about "a great threat" named Lord Drakkon. After that, we see Drakkon battling the Green, Red, and Yellow Rangers, pulling off an array of simple combos and then some more complex juggles in-game. We're left with a final and very ominous message from Zordon: "Lord Drakkon will attempt to conquer existence."

In Power Rangers lore, Lord Drakkon is an older, much crueler version of Tommy Oliver from an alternate reality, who rules over his Earth with an iron fist. Battle for the Grid take seems to stick to this path for the evil White Ranger, hinting he will indeed try to conquer even more dimensions.

The game's official description of Drakkon reads:

Lord Drakkon is Tommy Oliver from a world where he never strayed from the path of evil, even once Rita's spell was broken. His ambition unsated by conquering his own world, he turns his gaze towards the entirety of the Morphin Grid.

Drakkon is a high mobility fighter with a wide range of attack options that keeps his opponent's guessing. Although many of his combos and attack sequences are beginner-friendly, there are several advanced techniques players can learn in order to optimize his attack sequences and combos.

It remains to be seen whether Drakkon will be playable, part of the game's downloadable content, or a final boss, but clearly, he'll be a major factor in the story. It's also unclear how many villains will appear in Battle for the Grid, but we do know at least 11 more mysterious characters are yet to be revealed.
