While the winged baddie often sported gilded armor in the original TV series, this new interpretation leaves all subtlety behind to give fans a Goldar that truly lives up to his name.

In the film, Rita is going to enlist a revived version of Goldar, and the big opening battle will reportedly reveal how he was destroyed millions of years ago.

“Goldar was created with a single purpose — to penetrate the force field and steal the [Zeo Crystal]," the report revealed. "Rita Repulsa has been trying to deliver the Zeo Crystal to her master, Lord Zedd, for a long time. It would make quite a statement, as he burned half his face off trying to steal it himself.”

Directed by Dean Israelite and starring Dacre Montgomery as the Red Ranger, Naomi Scott as the Pink Ranger, Ludi Lin as the Black Ranger, R.J. Cyler as the Blue Ranger and Becky Gomez as the Yellow Ranger, “Power Rangers” hits theaters on March 24, 2017.
