The Pokémon franchise continues its 25th anniversary celebration with the launch of the Pokémon Trading Card Game's latest expansion set, Celebrations.

A promotional video hyping Pokémon TCG: Celebrations was shared to The Official Pokémon YouTube channel. The video itself showcases some of the cards that are available in the set, including classic cards like Umbreon, Charizard, Mew, Professor's Research and even a reprint of the sought-after Birthday Pikachu. Celebrations also includes the EX version of Mewtwo, not to mention VMAX versions of Surfing Pikachu and Flying Pikachu.

The Pokémon Company has been celebrating the franchise's 25th birthday throughout the year of 2021. The Game Boy video games that started it all, Pocket Monsters: Red and Pocket Monsters: Green, originally launched in Japan on Feb. 27, 1996, later making their way to North America as Pokémon Red and Blue on Sept. 28, 1998.

Similarly, the Pokémon TCG launched in Japan and North America in 1996 and 1998, respectively. The long-running Pokémon anime adaptation, meanwhile, first hit television in Japan in 1997 before receiving an English version in '98 -- and is still going strong to this very day. The Pokémon brand has also spun off into the world of movies, manga and toys, among other tie-in products over the years.
