Team Galactic are the villainous team present in Pokémon's Sinnoh region. Unlike the other villain teams preceding them, Team Galactic do not wish for global domination, money, or to expand the land or sea. They desire control of the entire universe through the use of the Legendary Pokémon Dialga and Palkia.

They have some of the most outlandish costumes, and their crimes start off petty at first, but their villainous feats only grow in scale throughout the course of the fourth generation games. When it comes to this team, there's a lot more than meets the eye, making them one of the best teams the franchise has ever seen.

10 Team Galactic's Buildings Are In Plain Sight

Team Galactic is incredibly bold, as they have bases that are obnoxiously large and colorful. They stick out like a sore thumb in Eterna and Veilstone City. They have little to no fear of getting caught, as their members are often seen accosting several people in public spaces for the player to save.

They do not hide their intentions at all, claiming to be open to generous donations of Pokémon and even having a sign outside of their base in Eterna City, stating "We want your Pokémon".

9 They're Great At Interior Decorating

Gone are the days where the player needs to navigate panels that spin them across the room like a top. Team Galactic have amazing architecture and interior design, which is plainly seen the further the player gets into the base.

The lowest ranking grunts may have a bland view, but the higher-ups enjoy space-themed walls. The quality of each section of their bases reflects how much Cyrus values his underlings.

8 The Grunts Are Self-Aware

The Grunts are entirely aware that they are relatively powerless, to the point where many of them aren't even surprised to be losing to a child. They have a poor selection of Pokémon, often including Stunky or Glameow.

In order to stand a chance against the player, they are smart enough to team up for a double battle and know that their main purpose is to stall the player. One Grunt even admits that losing is a part of their job too.

7 They Easily Caught The Legendary Trio

Team Galactic can proudly say that they caught multiple legendary Pokémon. Each admin of the team was sent to different locations in order to capture each member of the Legendary Lake Guardians.

After the player confronts Mars, she boasts that they were easy to catch, and neither the player nor the rivals are able to stop them. The team has no problems when it comes to keeping the Pokémon in captivity, either.

6 Cyrus Is Great At Inspiring His Grunts

Despite his intense dislike for other people, Cyrus is an amazing motivational speaker. With one speech, he reinvigorated his followers, convincing them that they were all making a better world for Team Galactic.

He also told them that they were all valued members, but right after his speech, would turn around and admit to the player that all of his words were lies. However, he had his Grunts eating right out of his hand.

5 Cyrus Utilizes The Very Thing He Hates

Cyrus absolutely despises the concept of spirit, writing off emotions and bonds with Pokémon as useless and intangible feelings. The Team Galactic leader's unfortunate past makes fans feel sympathetic towards him.

Despite hating the human spirit, he uses it to his advantage, experimenting on the Legendary Trio and recruiting people who are passionate enough to help him see his dream to fruition.

4 Cyrus Wants To Create A New World For Himself

Cyrus clenches his fist

Although all of the Team Galactic believe that they are working towards creating a better world, their organization was born from their leader's selfish desires. Cyrus is never able to see eye to eye with the player, and never wavers from his terrifying goal.

Rather than taking over the world, he wants to create one without spirit. The very concept is unfathomable and would rob both Pokémon and people of something so vital.

3 Cyrus Gives The Protagonist The Master Ball

Most players didn't expect the leader of a villainous organization to give them a rare and overpowered item like the Master Ball. Cyrus was so confident in himself that he stated that he didn't need it. Additionally, he allows the player to free the legendary trio.

His actions show just how much he believes in his goal, his own power, and how he views Pokémon as tools.

2 Team Galactic Seem Harmless At First

One of the big reasons why Team Galactic was able to get away with so many things was because Cynthia didn't take them seriously at the start of the game. Cynthia, being the Pokémon Champion, was more than strong enough to do what the player did.

However, the seemingly petty crimes of the villainous team (such as trying to steal some honey) masked what they were truly capable of.

1 They Always Keep Their Word To The Player

Despite being a group of villains, Team Galactic are good at keeping their word to the player. This could be attributed to their sheer confidence, especially when it comes to the admins, who would never dream of losing to a child.

After Mars makes a promise to leave Valley Windworks if she loses, she really does leave, although the victory isn't as sweet since she already completed her mission.
