A new leak has apparently revealed the map of the upcoming Pokémon Scarlet and Violet games in all its fuzzy glory.Notorious leaker @CentroLEAKS shared on Twitter three photos of the Pokémon Scarlet and Violet map, supposedly communicated to them by a source close to the game's development. The images reportedly show various depictions of the game's world through their authenticity is unclear. The first image shows the in-game map players can interact with on their adventure. The second is said to be concept art, created during the planning phase of the game. The third image is an overlay of the map first seen in one of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet's pre-release trailers.RELATED: Pokémon Scarlet/Violet Breeding Mechanics Reportedly Receive Major Overhaul

All the images are extremely blurry, making it difficult to pick out distinguishing details other than a few colorful landmarks and the border between land and sea. The clusters of color may indicate the placements of the game's various cities or themed areas where certain types of Pokémon exist. The region's outline is similar to Spain's, which may further fuel speculation that the country inspired Pokémon Scarlet and Violet's map. Fans already believe as much due to the leak of the region's name as Paldea, with "aldea" meaning village in Spanish.

One of the most expansive leaks claimed to reveal 72 of the game's Pokédex entries and detailed the typing of some new and returning Pokémon. It reported that creatures from previous generations like Girafarig, Murkrow, and Dunsparce would receive a new evolution in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. Other Pokémon like Gardevoir, Misdreavus and Delibird will reportedly switch to the unique Ancient/Future species, one of Scarlet and Violet's new gimmicks.

As the first entries in the franchise's ninth generation, Pokémon Scarlet and Violet will retain the open-world style of play introduced in Pokémon Sword and Shield and expanded upon in the spin-off Pokémon Legends: Arceus. The two games will release simultaneously on November 18, 2022, exclusively on Nintendo Switch.
