Pokémon: Let’s Go has sold 3 million copies worldwide in its first week of release, breaking the record for the fastest-selling title on the Nintendo Switch since the console's release in 2017.

The newest Pokémon game is the brand new remastered version of Pokémon: Yellow, which was released for the GameBoy after the success of the original two games, Pokémon: Red and Pokémon: Blue. Nintendo tweaked the new game to also incorporate elements from the widely popular mobile game Pokémon Go, and allows players to play with either Pikachu or Eevee.

The latest entry in the massive franchise has already become one of the best selling games on the Nintendo Switch, with over 110,000 units sold in the United Kingdom, and a whopping 661,000 copies within the first three days of release in Japan.

Now, Nintendo Life reports that the game has sold over 3 million copies worldwide within the first week of release. This makes it the fastest selling game for the Nintendo Switch, outpacing the releases of Super Mario Odyssey, which sold 2 million copies in the first three days of release, and Zelda: Breath of the Wild, which sold 1.3 million copies in the first month of release.
