Electrode, a new Hisuian variant that is a dual Grass/Electric-type, is the fourth frenzied noble Pokémon players fight in Pokémon Legends: Arceus. It is a lord of the Diamond Clan and resides at the Moonview Arena in the Coronet Highlands. The highlands have a swathe of climbable mountainsides that Warden Ingo's Sneasler will transport players over.

The battle against Electrode requires players to stay in constant motion. Otherwise, they will quickly black out from all of the action taking place on the screen. The key difference in Electrode's fight is in the effectiveness of the balms. Whereas players had ample time to throw balms at Kleavor or Lilligant between Pokémon battles, players will find it much easier to quell Electrode's frenzy once it's been stunned following a Pokémon battle. Here's how to get through the boss battle and quell Electrode's rage.

Breaking Down the Fight Against Electrode

Pokémon Legends Arceus Noble Electrode.

Electrode shoots balled masses of electricity which home in on the player across the arena. It sends out one orb at a time, but sometimes volleys will accumulate and chase after players. These orbs will eventually fizzle out if they cannot connect with the player.

Not only do players need to constantly be in motion to evade the orbs of electricity, but they also need to watch out for falling Hisuian Voltorb that self-destruct. If the sun is up while during the fight, it is easy to see each Voltorb's shadow before it falls and avoid where it will land. When the battlefield is darker, they are more difficult to see, but players still have time to dodge and get out of the explosion radius.

Once players avoid enough raining Voltorb, Electrode itself will jump to another area of the battlefield and self-destruct. The blast-radius indicator rapidly expands, so players will need to dodge to keep apace. After Electrode self-destructs, players can finally engage it in a Pokémon fight. During Pokémon battles, Electrode is level 46. Its move-set includes the Electric-type attacks Thunder and Thunder Wave. Each time Electrode is stunned, players can reduce around one quarter of the frenzy meter.

Strategies for Defeating Electrode

Trainer running from orb of electricity in Pokémon Legends: Arceus.

Unlike previous fights where players can easily throw a few balms when dodging attacks, it's best to focus on running and dodging when taking on Electrode. This means the entire encounter will take a little longer, but it's best to avoid attacks and stay in battle.

Since Electrode is an Electric/Grass-type, the best Pokémon to use during this fight are Poison, Bug, Fire or Ice types. Go for one that doesn't have a weakness to Electric type moves from a secondary typing to ensure they are not knocked out in one hit. Those who chose Cyndaquil as their starter Pokémon have an advantage during this fight. One strong style Flame Wheel is enough to knock Electrode out in one hit during each battle. Other Fire-type Pokémon, like Ponyta from the Obsidian Fieldlands or Vulpix and Magmar from the Cobalt Coastlands, can also work well against Electrode.
