Dynamaxing was introduced in Gen VIII with Sword & Shield. A strange power emanating from dens or Dynamax candies, Dynamaxing triggers a Pokémon to grow huge for a limited number of turns while being able to use super-charged versions of their moves.

Within Dynamaxing comes Gigantamaxing. This is limited to a smaller number of Pokémon, where they grow even larger and have their own exclusive additional features added to their design. While all Gigantamaxed Pokémon tower above everything and everyone else, some are much taller than others.

10 Charizard: 91'10" – Somehow Even More Terrifying And Formidable Than Before

Pokemon Sword Shield Gigantamax Charizard

Gigantamax Charizard has its own devastating G-Max move called G-Max Wildfire, which inflicts additional damage on non Fire-type Pokémon for five turns, which certainly changes the tide of any battle, especially doubles.

In Pokémon Journeys, Ash's main goal is to battle Leon once again and defeat him. As if this wasn't a lofty goal in the first place, the fact that Leon has the towering G-Max Charizard at his disposal makes it even more of a mammoth task.

9 Urshifu: 95'02" – A Huge Threat With Fighting Spirit

Urshifu Gigantamax Pokemon

Introduced in the Isle Of Armor DLC for Pokémon Sword & Shield, Urshifu is given to the player when it's just a Kubfu. It can then be evolved into either the Single Strike Style version which is dual Fighting-Dark type, or the Rapid Strike Style version which is Fighting and Water-type.

They both have different Gigantamax forms, with the Fighting-Dark Urshifu actually being taller. Its Dark-type G-Max move is G-Max One Blow which ignores any form of protection, even a Max Guard used by a Dynamaxed or G-Maxed Pokémon.

8 Alcremie: 98'05" – The Largest Cake You'll Ever See

Alcremie Gigantamax Pokemon

While Alcremie in its normal form looks like an adorable little dessert, its Gigantamax form sees it turn into a huge cake. At nearly 100 feet tall and impressive tiering like a wedding cake, Alcremie has one of the most unique G-Max designs.

It may still look adorable and impressive, but don't let that fool you. Its G-Max Finale not only inflicts damage to opponents but it also heals the user and any nearby allies, making it a great move in Dynamax raids or in any dire situation within a double battle.

7 Grimmsnarl: 105'00" – Lanky And Towering

Gigantamax Grimmsnarl

Standing at more than one hundred feet tall, Gigantamax Grimmsnarl's sheer towering height is mostly thanks to its long legs, which help it to stand tall and accentuate its ominous visage. G-Max Snooze is a unique Dark-type G-Max move that not only inflicts damage but also has a 50% chance of making the target drowsy enough to fall asleep during the next turn, essentially a boosted version of Yawn. The only other Dark-type Gigantamax form is the Single Strike Style version of Urshifu.

6 Meowth: 108'03" – The Stretchiest Of Bodies

Meowth Gigantamax Pokemon

Meowth's Gigantamax form is certainly one of the most bizarre, with its body especially elongated and stretchy, making it over one hundred feet tall. Its G-Max move, Max Gold Rush, is a powerful Normal-type move that confuses opponents and also earns extra money, making it a powerful version of Meowth's standard move Pay Day.

G-Max Meowth makes an appearance in the anime, in 'Sword and Shield.. The Legends Awaken!', where Team Rocket's Meowth gets affected by a Dynamax outbreak, resulting in it becoming Gigantamaxed and going on a rage.

5 Snorlax: 114'10" – An Entire Garden Growing On Its Stomach

Snorlax Gigantamax pokemon

Gigantamax Snorlax has one of the more memorable designs out of all the G-Max forms, with its belly being home to a tree and additional foliage. In raid scenes, the Snorlax just remains lying down on its back, reflecting Snorlax's true nature.

G-Max Replenish is a Normal-type G-Max move that not only inflicts damage but also has a 50% chance of restoring any berries that the user or its allies consumed, perfect for stalling turns in a tough battle.

4 Inteleon: 131'03" – The Highest Of Sniper Towers

Inteleon Gigantamax pokemon

Inteleon's G-Max form is one of the additions to the DLC forms, along with the other Galarian starters, Urshifu, Venusaur and Blastoise. Out of all the G-Max forms, Inteleon's is one that makes the most sense, with it essentially being a sniper in a really high sniper tower, hence its height being over 130 feet. G-Max Hydrosnipe, which is just a powerful and accurate Water-type move, is therefore a fitting move considering its Gigantamax design.

3 Coalossal: 137'10" – Even More Clumps Of Coal

Coalossal in its Gigantamax form in Pokémon

At almost 140 feet tall, Gigantamax Coalossal is a force of nature to behold, with its mountain of coal expanding even further than in its original form. Its G-Max move, G-Max Volcalith, is one of the best and most-used G-Max moves in the game as it is a dangerous Rock-type move that deals damage to opponents continually for four turns.

Having a Gigantamax Coalossal holding a Weakness Policy, and with the ability Steam Engine, has been a strategy used by pro players in competitive battling as it can become an unstoppable force if it survives the first few turns of a battle.

2 Duraludon: 141'01" – A Skyscraper Towering Above The Rest

Duraludon Gigantamax

Duraludon's Gigantamax form is a literal skyscraper and one of the most unique G-Max designs in the game. Towering at over 140 feet, G-Max Duraludon dominates any Dynamax raid. G-Max Depletion is a Dragon-type move that reduces the PP of the last move used by any opposing Pokémon. While it isn't a move that necessarily stands out compared to other G-Max moves, it could certainly have its uses in long battles against foes with powerful low-PP moves.

1 Centiskorch: 246'01" – The Longest Of Insects

Gigantamax Centiskorch on show in a Dynamax raid in Pokémon Sword & Shield.

It may be surprising to consider Centiskorch as the tallest Gigantamax Pokémon form, but when taking its long centipede body into account, it makes complete sense that it could reach heights of over 200 feet. Its G-Max Centiferno traps opponents in flames for four to five turns, in a similar way to the move Fire Spin. Centiskorch in its towering form presents itself as a formidable opponent in Dynamax raids, but it isn't overly popular in regards to competitive use.
