10 Froslass

This gorgeous piece was created by DeviantArt user WhiteMantisArt. It features a gijinka/humanized Froslass, the evolved form of a female Snorunt via a Dawn Stone.  It's a wonderfully atmospheric piece and the mixture of Pokémon and humans is pretty seamless. Froslass feels reminiscent of a Dark Souls boss.

9 Ghost Type

This art by DeviantArt user einlee was a celebratory Halloween piece featuring numerous Ghost type Pokémon. Each creature has so much personality through their eyes alone with a Tim Burton-esque feel. There's something to love about each of these characters' designs that are upped in the creep factor here!

Some standouts in the pack include Mismagius with their asymmetrical hat and beady red eyes, Litwick with their terrifying teeth and eyes that make it look like they've definitely seen some things, and Haunter featuring some jagged lines throughout his design. It's also nice to see dome dual types like the Steel/Ghost Pokémon Aegislash get some love here.

8 CM - Shall we have a cup of tea (SPEEDPAINT UP)

This lovely painting was created by DeviantArt user Wanini (the character was designed by yami11). The commission is an interpretation of what the Pokémon Duskull would look like as a human. It's so creative and the set-piece including a cup of tea and a black rose fits really well.

7 This is Lavender Town!

The first in his Pokémon Type Special series, this commission was created by DeviantArt user Pixelated-Takkun and is available as a print without the watermark. This piece manages to incorporate dozens of Ghost types, and the artist takes care to give them each attention. The Gourgeist and Spiritomb have an especially fun color palette.

In addition to the slew of Ghost types running rampant in this picture, the mansion overshadowed by the golden moon, the dark swirling sky, and the mist surrounding the characters really set just the right tone for this piece, bringing it all together perfectly.

6 Haunter

DeviantArt user Snook-8 has plenty of spooky Pokémon art pieces (including a piece combining non-Ghost type Pokémon with Five Night's At Freddy's characters), making it hard to choose just one. However, this Haunter piece has a really awesome creep factor to it. The Haunter fades into the darkness like the specter he is, really adding to the spooks. The artist really ads to his creepiness by making the hands super claw-like and putting a spiraling smile on this devilish face.

5 Pokemon Ghost Party

DeviantArt user DarienDoodles has chosen to create a really fun take on Ghost type Pokémon here by making them more cute than creepy! The front and center trio features fan-favorites Banette, Gengar, and Sableye with huge pink eyes that make you want them as plushies.

Plus, the longer you look at the piece, the more Pokémon you see, to the point where it almost feels like a "Where's Waldo?" moment. The purple shading through the piece accompanies the fun feeling as well.

4 Pirate Duskull

This Pirate Duskull was created by DeviantArt user MokkaQuill. A part of the Pirate Pokémon collaboration, this Duskull is perfect for the pirate theme. Besides a pirate flag, Duskull is given an adorable little hook for a hand. He'd make a great pirate mascot. Who needs a parrot when you could have a Duskull?! The color palette also stands out among the many fan art pieces, which often exude fun purples, but this piece shows it can be fun and effective to switch it up a bit sometimes.

3 Ghost Light

This Ghost Light piece is by DeviantArt user Pombei and features three Pokémon from the same evolutionary chain! Starting from the bottom and moving upward there is Litwick, Lampent, and Chandelure. The artist gave these Ghost/Fire types a nice subtle background that incorporated elements of both their types by using purple flames.

2 Spooky Exploration

The DeviantArt user Paleona made a fun cartoony piece featuring several different types of Pokémon. This is another more adorable take on the Ghost type (though our little explorers Turtwig and Teddiursa may not agree...). The gravestones featuring the names/images of dead concept or unrealized games also add a meta element to the piece. This is quite a lively graveyard with ruins you'd expect to see Mario running through.

1 Type: Ghost

The last piece in this list is by DeviantArt user WORMBOYx. It's another fan work featuring an army of Ghost type Pokémon. The army here is quite a cute chibi-looking take on these phantasms though. Another color palette dominated by purple and black, this piece stands out for using the purple as an outline for most of these cute little creeps.

The expressions really stand out in the artwork and every Pokémon feels perfectly captured personality-wise. Drifloon's eyes make them look deceptively harmless. Mimikyu is a great combination of deadly and precious thanks to their little head tilt and smiling expression. Then there's Gengar with one of their eyes almost completely closed, giving him a trickster-like vibe. Possibly the most amusing, there's Ghastly, who has their tongue out and ready to fulfill their Pokédex description! There's just so much personality to love oozing out of this piece.
