Pokémon Scarlet and Violet unveiled a music video for its song collaboration with musician Ed Sheeran.

The new song, titled "Celestial," came about as a collaboration between Sheeran and the Pokémon Company International to play sometime during the upcoming Scarlet and Violet games. The adorable video shows Gen I Pokémon as they help Sheeran about his day, though not always with the greatest results for his home. Pikachu electrocutes him to wake him up, Charmander sets fire to the kitchen while cooking breakfast and Squirtal puts out the flames. The video showcases Sheeran's personal favorites, including the above and others such as Snorlax, Machamp, Slowpoke and Mew.

The Pokémon Games' Next Evolution

Although the music video primarily focuses on the first generation of Pokémon, the song itself promotes a whole new one. Pokémon Scarlet and Violet mark the ninth generation for the beloved franchise, adding a bunch of new creatures to the fold. Some fans argue that the more recent editions look too similar to older Pokémon, while others find the Gen IV designs lean closer to Digimon or other similar characters. Scarlet and Violet recently unveiled a pair of Mega Man-like Pokémon called Armarouge and Ceruledge, with many fans clamoring to admire the unique creatures.

Pokémon Scarlet and Violet also contain numerous gimmicks, something each generation of the games includes to keep them fresh. The inclusion of Convergent, Ancient and Future Pokémon species marks one of these, playing into the apparent theme of the generation surrounding the past and future. Scarlet and Violet just unveiled the first Convergent species with Wiglett, a Water-type that is apparently related to the Ground-type Diglett but is an entirely different species.

The newest generation of Pokémon takes players to the Spain-inspired world of Paldea, a vast, open-world land with multiple stories for fans to engage in. While it does contain the typical Gym story from the earliest titles, albeit with the new freedom to tackle them in any order, Scarlet and Violet also include different plotlines that players can explore in any order. One of these is another new gimmick called the Terastal Phenomenon, which imbues Pokémon with a crystallized form that changes their type. Many details about Scarlet and Violet leaked way ahead of official confirmation, including the ridable legendary Pokémon Koraidon and Miraidon.

Pokémon Scarlet and Violet will be released on the Nintendo Switch on Nov. 18.
