A cookbook based on the Pokémon franchise will allow players to dine on dishes inspired by a number of iconic Pokémon from throughout the series' history.

An Amazon page for My Pokémon Cookbook: Delicious Recipes Inspired by Pikachu and Friends recently went up, setting an October 25 release date for the book. Written by Victoria Rosenthal, the cookbook will feature recipes based on Pokémon from every region, up to and including Sword and Shield's Galar. Fans of the adorable creatures need not worry -- the recipes are simply inspired by pocket monsters. The butchering of Pokémon will not be required to prepare any of the meals or snacks.

Rosenthal is a video game enthusiast with a history in the kitchen. She has previously worked on several gaming cookbooks, including Halo: The Official Cookbook, The Ultimate Final Fantasy XIV Cookbook: The Essential Culinarian Guide to Hydaelyn, Fallout: The Vault Dweller's Official Cookbook and Destiny: The Official Cookbook. The Pokémon cookbook will give her the opportunity to point her culinary skills toward another one of the largest gaming franchises on earth.

While fans will not be able to dine on Farfetch'd as the people of the world of Pokémon do, the Amazon page for My Pokémon Cookbook does show off a handful of the recipes they can expect. The dish based on Charizard, for instance, is pasta with spicy arrabbiata sauce, reflecting the Pokémon's fiery disposition. Gengar's dish is a purple layered yogurt cup made with frozen fruit, while Shuckle's Pokédex entry has inspired a berry smoothie (In canon, Shuckle ferments berries within its shell until they become a purple goop. The smoothie sounds a bit more appealing). Seaking, ever the class act, is the inspiration for an autumnal dragonfruit agua fresca with citrus ice cubes made with grapefruit, lime, blood orange and grenadine.

Entries for other Pokémon have yet to be revealed, but the Amazon description for the book promises dishes based on Pikachu and Umbreon. One can only imagine what these will entail -- doesn't Pikachu seem like a cocktail kind of fellow? There will apparently be recipes for at least one Pokémon from each region. The cookbook will be accessible to trainers of all skill levels, with recipe difficulties ranging from one to four.

My Pokémon Cookbook: Delicious Recipes Inspired by Pikachu and Friends will release on October 25, 2022. It will be available on Amazon.
