A remake of a PlayStation classic could potentially be revealed this Christmas, according to a recent interview with Irish musician Ava.

During a radio interview with WLR FM, Ava confirmed that she had been working on music for an upcoming remake of a PlayStation game, as reported on gaming forum ResetEra. She spoke in depth about the project and even mentioned a potential release window for an official announcement. "Michael McGlynn got in touch and just said, 'Listen, we're writing music for a remake of a PlayStation game -- he's done that a lot, he's done a lot of writing for different games that are very well known," said Ava. "But I'm actually not a gamer myself, so really what I was involved with was the lyric writing in the Irish language."

As a self-professed non-gamer, Ava likely had no idea how much excitement her interview could stir up. She went on to nonchalantly disclose that an announcement will be dropping at Christmas, saying, "For ages I wasn't allowed to really -- you don't know what you're writing for, it's all kind of undisclosed because they don't want it to get out. So it's actually going to be announced at Christmas -- the name of the game. I have heard of it now and I have confirmed it is a big game, which is great! It's going to be an Irish language piece in the game, which is brilliant."

The interview has since been subject to speculation on ResetEra, where users have attempted to piece together clues from Ava’s interview to decipher what game is getting remade. Ava’s remark about writing an "Irish language piece" led some fans to speculate that Folklore, a 2007 PlayStation 3 release could fit the bill. Another user posted a link to the song "The Best is Yet To Come" from Metal Gear Solid, which could potentially match Ava's musical description, and would certainly qualify as a "big game."

Other comments were skeptical, suggesting that Ava’s apparent lack of gaming knowledge means this is not confirmation of a PlayStation classic being remastered. One user pointed out, "It's probable that whoever this is doesn't actually know anything beyond 'we recorded some music in Irish'. They may also be using 'playstation game' in a general sense to mean 'video game', rather than in the 'Playstation Studios game' sense."

It is also worth noting that rumors of a Sly Cooper return recently made the rounds. However, unless the game’s soundtrack is receiving a major overhaul, this theory is likely just wishful thinking for now.
