Prior to the launch of the highly successful PlayStation 5, Sony stated that it's open to porting more first-party PlayStation exclusive titles to PC. After seeing success with PC ports of Horizon Zero Dawn, Persona 4 Golden, Journey and Quantic Dream games such as Heavy Rain and Detroit: Become Human, it seems Sony is ready and willing to allow some of its premier franchises to make their way to PC.

Sony has a large catalog of exclusive games and franchises that could really use the PC port treatment. Out of the seemingly ceaseless PlayStation franchises available, these five titles would likely thrive on PC.

1. The Resistance Series

Insomniac's attempt to branch out into the darker, first-person-shooter market doesn't get brought up nowadays. It's undeniable Insomniac has hit a new stride by making the phenomenal PlayStation 4 exclusive Marvel's Spider-Man and its new follow-up, Spider-Man: Miles Morales.

Before Insomniac was making the best superhero games on the market, it struggled to find its footing with a new franchise. While working on a string of Ratchet and Clank sequels for the PlayStation 3, Insomniac tried its hand at a first-person-shooter. While Resistance: Fall of Man was a rocky start to the series, it eventually blossomed into something far more interesting. Although the games are largely forgotten about, a PC port of the trilogy could substantially help its visuals with greater resolutions and framerates, and a new mouse and keyboard design could fix control issues for improved gameplay.

2. The Yakuza Series

Yakuza has slowly but surely been making its way to other platforms. For the longest time, the famous Japanese RPG/brawler hybrid franchise was solely on Sony's hardware. As time progressed, both Kiwami remakes, Yakuza 0 and Like a Dragon have been ported to Xbox and PC. Sega says it no longer considers Yakuza to be a PlayStation exclusive at all.

Essentially, it seems Yakuza's potential future on platforms other than PlayStation is up to Sega, not Sony, so there's reason to believe there will be more Yakuza on PC soon. The main reason why it would be awesome to see the rest of the Yakuza catalog make its way to PC is solely to play the entire franchise on a single machine besides the PlayStation 4. The more people who can play the unadulterated wackiness of the Yakuza series, the better.

3. The Killzone Series

Much like Resistance, Killzone was a series made by Guerilla Games during a weird period for the developer. The company tried to break into the FPS market with the original Killzone on the PlayStation 2, but the game was met with mediocre reviews. It wasn't until Guerilla came back with the highly improved Killzone 2 and 3 that it really set its mark on the console FPS scene.

To this day, games like Killzone 2 still look pretty good despite being a decade old, but its controls could see improvement. The Sixaxis/Dualshock 3 controllers weren't the best for shooters and were especially tedious in games like Killzone because of their implementation of pointless motion controls. A PC release could fix the motion control issues and add much-needed combat precision, as well as potential graphical and framerate enhancements.

4. Metal Gear Solid 4

Metal Gear Solid 4's Old Snake

Konami has had issues preserving its back catalog of games, but it trecently released a few Metal Gear and Silent Hill games to PC. While the quality of these ports can be called into question, it does seem Konami may have some interest in further moving its titles to PC.

One game in particular that's been really hard for people outside of Sony's ecosystem to play is Metal Gear Solid 4. Games like Metal Gear Solid 3 and even the once PSP exclusive Peace Walker made their way to the Xbox 360, but Metal Gear Solid 4 has stayed put on the PlayStation 3. If Metal Gear Solid 4 could be freed of its console exclusive shackles, it would make things much easier for Metal Gear fans who don't want to buy a 14 year-old console just to play one game. By now, about half of the Metal Gear canon is on PC, so this is an obvious choice.

5. Bloodborne

By far, more gamers want a PC port of Bloodborne than almost any other PlayStation exclusive title. FromSoftware's Lovecraftian horror experience is one of the most fun and interesting games on the PlayStation 4, but it's held back by being locked to 30 frames per second.

Lower framerates have been the name of the game for the console versions of Dark Souls since its inception, but seeing those games running on PC gives them the life they need. With greater texture detail and boosted framerates, the PC has been the premier platform for Dark Souls, but Bloodborne hasn't been able to make the jump -- which it should, and soon.
