Pixar released a new piece of artwork celebrating the 25th anniversary of its debut film, Toy Story.The art was released on Pixar's official Twitter and featured Buzz Lightyear and Woody alongside their fellow toys, as seen on Twitter.RELATED: Toy Story: How Pixar's First Movie Established the Studio's Best AND Worst Trends

"The toy box is overflowing with fun!" Pixar captioned the post. "Happy 25th anniversary to Toy Story, first released on this day in 1995."

Pixar's former chief creative officer John Lasseter directed Toy Story. The film featured screenplay contributions by Buffy the Vampire Slayer creator Joss Whedon. The film centers around cowboy toy Woody, who feels threatened by state-of-the-art action figure, Buzz Lightyear. The two must work together to get back to their owner Andy after a series of mishaps traps them with Andy's demented neighbor, Sid.

Toy Story received critical acclaim and is one of the pioneers in 3D animation. It led to its franchise, with three sequels and various short films. Lightyear also served as the protagonist of the Toon Disney animated series, Buzz Lightyear of Star Command, developed by Kim Possible creators Bob Schooley and Mark McCorkle.

Pixar has also continued to grow as an animation studio, releasing several critically acclaimed films. Its latest film, Soul will be available to stream on Disney+ on Dec. 25.
