Pixar has announced their second movie for 2020, which, like Onward, will be an original production. In a tweet sent out by Walt Disney Studios, it was revealed that the second Pixar movie of next year is tiled Soul.According to the official synopsis of Soul, the film "will take you on a journey from the streets of New York City to the cosmic realms to discover the answers to life's most important questions. Deadline reports that Pete Docter (Up, Inside Out) has signed on to direct the movie.RELATED: Why Toy Story 4 Doesn't Have An Animated Short

This move makes sense, seeing as how the premise of Soul sounds very similar to that of Inside Out. In Inside Out, a little girl has to deal with changes in her life, and the movie plays out in her head with characters portraying her emotions.

While the exact structure of Soul remains unknown, the film's tagline poses the question, "Ever wonder where your passion, your dreams and your interests come from? What is it that makes you... you?"

The fact that both of Pixar's 2020 releases will be original films is not a surprise. The studio revealed in 2016 that it would be moving away from sequels and, following Toy Story 4, the next four films in the Pixar lineup would be originals. Pixar President Jim Morris revealed that both of the 2020 films were in their planning stages in 2016 and the next two were in early development at the time.

Directed by Josh Cooley, Pixar's Toy Story 4 opens June 21. Onward hits theaters on March 6, 2020. Soul, directed by Pete Docter, arrives in theaters on June 19, 2020.
