Having started in 1986, Pixar is widely-regarded as one of the best animation studios in the world, and has had many huge successes, such as Toy StoryBrave, and WALL-E. Most of Pixar's films are standalones, and in the rare occasion that they make a sequel or prequel, fans usually have to wait many years to see them.

While fans have sequels/prequels for the likes of Cars, Monsters Inc., and Finding Nemo, some Pixar films don't have the sequels they deserve – films may be left on cliffhangers or with partially unresolved storylines. Either way, fans definitely want to see more of certain Pixar films.

8 A Bug's Life Sequel Could Show The Circus Bugs On A New Adventure

A Bug's Life

A Bug's Life is the second film that Pixar ever made, releasing back in 1998. Like many of Pixar's other older movies, it deserves a sequel. It told the story of an ant named Flik who met a group of circus bugs – who he thought were warriors – and worked with them to take down a group of grasshoppers. While Flik and the other ants had a good conclusion to their arcs, their circus friends' journey could easily continue. It would be great to see them become successful and help other bugs out in a potential sequel.

7 Remy And Linguini's Adventures Can Continue In A Ratatouille Sequel

Remy runs with food

Ratatouille was released in 2007 and followed the life of a rat named Remy, who was able to cook. Ratatouille's other main character is the untalented chef named Linguini, and the pair worked together in an unconventional friendship to produce great food. The end of Ratatouille reveals that Remy, who had been narrating his story, was actually speaking to a group of rats in his restaurant, La Ratatouille. A potential sequel could focus on the events that took place between the main story and the epilogue, as some plot lines were mentioned but not actually shown. Or, a prequel could feature the lives of Remy, Linguini, and their friends after the original.

6 A Second Inside Out Movie Could Have The Emotions Travel To Riley's New Islands

The emotions from Inside Out

Inside Out released in 2015 and focused on eleven-year-old Riley's emotions: anger, disgust, joy, fear, and sadness. These emotions tried to help Riley however they could. After Riley's family moved to San Francisco, Joy and Sadness accidentally left the area that they worked from, leaving the other emotions to control Riley while they went on a journey to return to the girl they love.

During Joy and Sadness' adventure, the world within Riley's mind begins to crumble. In the epilogue, new islands within Riley's mind are created. It would be great to see Fear, Disgust, and Anger travel to Tragic Vampire Romance, Fashion, and Boy Band Islands, as well as the new Friendship Island in a potential sequel. A second Inside Out could also feature another person's emotions, telling an entirely different story in a similar world.

5 The Great Before Can Be Explored More In A Soul Sequel

Soul Movie

Similar to Inside Out, a sequel to Soul could either expand upon the original story or tell a different one within the same world. Soul is one of Pixar's newest films, releasing in 2020. Soul focuses on a musician named Joe, who nearly died. Not wanting to accept his death, he went to the Great Before rather than the Great Beyond and met a soul named 22, who he learned about the meaning of life with.

At the end of the movie, 22 decided to go to Earth, which she didn't want to do for centuries, and Joe was able to have a second chance at life. Whether one of their stories were to continue in a second film or it focused on different characters going to the Great Before, a sequel to Soul would be great.

4 Incredibles 2 Ended On A Cliffhanger, Just Like The First Film

The Incredibles 2

The Incredibles is one of Pixar's most popular franchises. Like the original movie, The Incredibles 2 ended on a cliffhanger, making fans want more. Throughout The Incredibles 2, Violet had some conflict with her love interest, Tony. However, after the Parr family defeated Screenslaver, the two planned to go on a date.

As her family brought them to the movies, they noticed some criminal activity going down, leading them to drop off Tony as they prepared to save the day. Seeing as how it took 14 years for Incredibles 2 to release after the first film, fans shouldn't expect a third installment to anytime soon. If it ever does, it'll surely be incredible.

3 A Luca Sequel Could Go In Many Directions

Luca

Luca is currently Pixar's most recent movie, releasing only a few months ago. Luca tells the story of the titular character and his friend, Alberto – two sea monsters that could disguise themselves as humans. Attempting to blend in to a town inhabited by people that fear the sea monsters, the pair disguise themselves in hope to win a Vespa. At the end of Luca, the town discovers their true identities but, in true Pixar fashion, learn to accept them for who they are. Other citizens revealed that they were also sea monsters.

After winning the Vespa, Alberto sold it so he could help Luca move with their friend, Giulia, enabling him to go to school. Meanwhile, Alberto stayed in the town and became an assistant to Giulia's father. A sequel could revolve around the two main characters embarking on their own adventures, though Alberto's story did continue in a short. Ciao Alberto released just recently on Disney+ Day.

2 Ian And Barkley Can Go On More Fantasy Adventures In An Onward Sequel

Ian and Barley from Onward

Onward released in 2020 and told the story of two brothers. Ian and Barkley go on a journey to reunite with their father, Wilden, who had passed away prior to Ian's birth. Throughout Onward, they encountered many fantasy creatures and grew closer to each other, especially when Ian wasn't able to see Wilden but realized that Barkley had been there for him his entire life. Ian and Barkley could go on many more fantasy adventures, further exploring one of Pixar's most interesting worlds. However, Onward may be better off having a prequel about Wilden's secret life as a wizard.

1 A Second Brave Movie Could Reveal More About The Mysterious Witch

Merida from Pixar's Brave

Brave came out in 2012 and told the story of a princess named Merida. Merida accidentally turned her mother, Elinor, into a bear after she tried to force her to get married. By seeing things in a different perspective, Elinor was able to understand Merida's feelings and ended up letting her be her own person.

While Mor'du, an incredibly powerful bear that was the main antagonist of the film, the true villain is the witch responsible for his and Elinor's transformations. With little being known about her, a second Brave movie could answer fans' questions if she were to encounter Merida again.
