Disney's starting to hoist the sails on the next installment of the ridiculously successful Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, which will weigh anchor July 10, 2015.

Variety reports the studio has enlisted Jeff Nathanson (Tower Heist, Catch Me if You Can) to pen the latest adventures of the scallywags who have been entertaining crowds -- and making huge amounts of money -- since the series launched in 2003 with Curse of the Black Pearl.

Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightley bowed out following the film's third installment, but Johnny Depp's Jack Sparrow has appeared in all four, including 2011's On Stranger Tides, which brought Geoffry Rush back and enlisted Penelope Cruz and Ian McShane. Of course, with it being so early in the filmmaking process, we don't know who will be returning for the fifth film, though Depp has said that he'd be interested if he likes the script.
