In less than one month, Patrick Stewart officially returns to his most iconic role in Star Trek: Picard, and the latest teaser for the upcoming CBS All Access series sees him try to get a little help from his friends.
The promo clip features Jean-Luc approaching his old friends and former Enterprise crewmates Will Riker and Deanna Troi, who have since settled into their own domestic bliss. The retired Starfleet admiral tells them of a girl's life in danger, along with suspicions of an interstellar conspiracy.
The clip also introduces a new Vulcan Starfleet officer, and Seven of Nine is seen engaged in an explosive gunfight while a fleet of Birds of Prey rises over a planet.
While Picard may start the upcoming series living in retirement, his resolve hasn't wavered, as the clip ends with him confronting Starfleet officials while wielding a phaser of his own.
Star Trek: Picard stars Patrick Stewart, Alison Pill, Michelle Hurd, Evan Evagora, Isa Briones, Santiago Cabrera and Harry Treadaway. The series is set to premiere on CBS All Access Jan. 23, 2020.
