DC Comics and Warner Bros. Consumer Products set a very specific Guinness World Record this past Saturday: "Most People Dressed as DC Comics Super Heroes in a 24-Hour Period." While it hasn't been disclosed exactly how many people participated, the event started in Queensland, Australia and ended in Los Angeles -- with gatherings in between taking place in Manila, Philippines; Kaohsiung, Taiwan; Madrid, Spain; Rome, Italy; London, Birmingham, Warrington and Cardiff in the United Kingdom; São Paulo, Brazil; Paris, France; Plano, Illinois (which served as Superman's hometown of Smallville in 2013's "Man of Steel") and Mexico City, Mexico.

CBR photographer Pinguino Kolb was on hand for the LA installment of the record cosplay attempt, held at a venue no stranger to costumed characters -- the Hollywood & Highland Center. Forty-two of her photos follow below, featuring fans of all ages (and a couple canines) posing as DC heroes ranging from icons like Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman to more unexpected choices like White Lantern Kyle Rayner.
