More than any character in the Marvel universe, Peter has had his fair share of crushes and relationships. It's always been an integral part of his character, playing into the fact that Peter's life is as important as the superheroics of Spider-Man. Everyone knows about Gwen Stacy and Mary Jane Watson, but those are far from the only women who've caught Peter's eye.

Some of those women have come in the main continuity of Marvel, and others have shown up within the multiverse, some of which make no sense at all.

10 Kitty Pryde & Peter Parker's Relationship Was One Of The Best Parts Of The Ultimate Universe

Ultimate Kitty Pryde

The Ulitmate universe has had its fair share of hits and misses, the awful Ultimatum being chief among the negatives. One of the positives was the relationship between Peter and Katherine Pryde. The two truly loved one another and had a wholesome relationship that was almost as good as Mary Jane Watson. The two of them stuck together throughout most of the series, right up until Peter's untimely death. It's one of the best parts of the ultimate universe.

9 Silver Sable Became Peter's Employer & His Hearts Desire In A What If Story

Silver Sable & Spider-man

Silver Sable and Spider-Man have always had an interesting relationship, sometimes they are allies, and other times they've come into combat with each other. Given that she's a mercenary, that's not all that surprising. A what-if storyline took their relationship in a far different direction, first making them work together and then having them form a more intimate relationship. It's an interesting take and one of the few multiverse crushes Peter's had that makes sense.

It was one she wasn't fond of, but that Spider-Man didn't mind. The two spent the night together on patrol and would have kissed had Jean Gray not telepathically cried out in pain. Despite the strangeness of the storyline, the two had solid chemistry.

7 Carlie Cooper Was A Cop, Who Often Helped Spider-Man Find Criminals

Spider-Man Carlie Cooper

Peter dating a cop was as strange as having a police officer actively helping Spider-Man find bad guys. That's the role Carlie Cooper played for a good portion of her time in Dan Slott's Spider-Man. Their relationship never lasted long, Carlie was unable to stay with Peter after she found out he was Spider-Man, but they remained friends after and worked well together. Unfortunately, the reveal of his true identity broke her down more than she let on, leading her to leave New York City.

6 Emma Frost Tried To Break Up Peter With His Girlfriend In The Marvel Adventures Continuity

Spider-man & Emma Frost

Emma Frost and Spider-Man are a pairing that no one would expect in the main continuity, and with good reason, they aren't compatible at all. Not to worry, that's where the Marvel Adventures continuity comes into play where Emma Frost is a thief known as Silencer, who did jobs with Peter's then-girlfriend Chat. What came next was Emma falling for Peter, making him believe that he and Chat broke up, so she could have him. Needless to say, despite Pete's attraction, her plan only ended when she turned herself into the police.

Gloria Grant Spider-man

Gloria Grant first met Peter when they were neighbors at his new apartment. From the very beginning, there was a chemistry between the two, as the pair were constantly flirting with one another in the halls. She even ends up becoming a secretary for Jameson at the Daily Bugle for a spell before falling in love with a criminal. In a cruel twist of fate, she tries to shoot Spider-Man at one point, missing and killing her lover Eduardo instead.

3 Michelle Gonzales Was The Sister Of Peter's Flatmate

Michelle Gonzales spider-man

Michelle Gonzalez was not the type of girl Peter would usually be attracted to, possessing a fire and bossiness that he strayed away from. Their relationship may have never been a thing if his flatmate Vincent didn't end up getting arrested for the "Spider-Tracer Killer" conspiracy. While he was away, she showed up to watch over the apartment and left once she was no longer needed, breaking it off with Peter. It was for the best as the two weren't all that compatible.

2 Marrow Was Once Peter's Enemy, Only To Become A Fling After She Was Brainwashed

Marrow vs Spider-Man Cropped

Marrow's involvement with Peter was strange, to say the least. At first, she came into conflict with him during Operation Zero Tolerance, only to end up becoming a brainwashed S.H.I.E.L.D agent meant to take out rogue LMDs. It's here that she and Peter saw each other in a different light while under her guise as Sarah Rushman. They dated a few times before she found out that Peter was Spider-Man, forcing her to call it off.

1 Anna Maria Marconi Was Nearly Peter's Fiancee After Octavius Took Over His Body

Peter Parker and Anna Maria Marconi on a picnic date

The premise of Octavius taking over Peter's body in Superior Spider-Man was strange and had no business being as good as it was. It opened up a lot of new story avenues and helped develop a lot of characters. While in Peter's body, he fell in love with Anna Maria Marconi, who is one of the most surprising love interests in all of Spider-Man. Her interactions with Otto were wholesome, and she even handled Peter regaining his body better than anyone else could have. While technically not Peter in consciousness, it was still Pete's body.
