Legendary Incredible Hulk team Peter David and Dale Keown are teaming up one more time for a final story starring Marvel's jade giant.

For over a decade, stretching from the '80s into the '90s, Peter David scripted the adventures of The Incredible Hulk, a legendary run that truly earned the oft-overused moniker "fan-favorite." Over the course of his time shaping the lives of Bruce Banner and the Hulk, readers saw both characters experience multiple changes, both cosmetic and far deeper. By the time David's run came to a close, it's safe to say he had put his indelible stamp on the Hulk, literally changing the way every writer who came after him would approach the character.

In 1990, artist Dale Keown joined David on the series, and for two years, the pair redefined the character with what has become one of the most fondly remembered arcs of David's entire run on the title. The duo would re-team in 2002 for Hulk: The End, a one-shot detailing the "final" Hulk story, a tale that found Bruce Banner and his gamma-irradiated alter ego on a post-nuclear war stricken Earth.

Now, the pair are reuniting once more for a final story starring Marvel's jade giant. Incredible Hulk: Last Call is a special one-shot celebrating Marvel Comics' 80th anniversary. The comic will explore what happens when Banner is tired of his entire existence, only to find himself in "a fight worthy of the Incredible Hulk."

"It's great to be working with Dale again," David told CBR of the project. "Some of my favorite stories were produced during Dale's time on the book, and I endeavored to produce a story that would hit all the high points that fans remember from those days. I can't wait for the readers' reactions to the story."
