A teaser trailer for the new season dropped today, giving viewers their first look at the drama's take on Lucias Fox. While he only appears for a brief blink-and-you'll-miss-it moment, his character will play a large role in the upcoming episodes. His character description describes him as "a young American scientist, precise to the point of pedantry, deliberately calm, honest, and direct to a fault; he suffers no fools gladly. His friends would say he's a man of conscience; his enemies would say he's judgmental and dogmatic. An integral part of the DC universe, this marks his introduction to the Wayne family."

Pennyworth premiered on July 28, 2019, on Epix. The series follows Alfred Pennyworth (Jack Bannon), former British SAS soldier and future butler to the Wayne family, in his early years. The drama also features younger versions of Thomas Wayne (Ben Aldridge) and Martha Kane (Emma Paetz), the future parents of Bruce Wayne / Batman. Epix renewed the show for Season 2 in October of 2019.

Pennyworth is one many TV series based on the Caped Crusader and his allies. Gotham, which serves as an immediate prequel to the adventures of Batman and follows a young Jim Gordon (Ben McKenzie) as he rises up through the Gotham City Police Department, aired on Fox for five seasons from 2014 to 2019. Meanwhile, The CW is currently filming Season 2 of Batwoman. While Season 1 focused on Bruce Wayne's cousin Kate Kane, titular star Ruby Rose left the show after the first season concluded. She was replaced by Javicia Leslie, who will play new character Ryan Wilder. Various characters from the Batman comics also appeared in Arrow, including Ra's al Ghul, Talia al Ghul, Deathstroke and Huntress.

Developed by former Gotham collaborators Bruno Heller and Danny Cannon, Pennyworth stars Jack Bannon as Alfred Pennyworth, Ben Aldridge as Thomas Wayne, Jason Flemyng as Lord Harwood, Paloma Faith as Bet Sykes, Ryan Fletcher as Dave Boy, Hainsley Lloyd Bennett as Bazza, Jessica Ellerby as the Queen and Simon Manyonda as Lucius Fox. Season 2 premieres Dec. 13 on Epix.
