Thomas Wayne is about to lead Alfred Pennyworth into a world of trouble.
In the first full trailer for EPIX's Pennyworth, Alfred quits the army to start a security firm of his very own. His new business venture leads him to a gentleman's club, which puts him in the crosshairs of a criminal conspiracy -- all thanks to Thomas Wayne.
After witnessing his work, Thomas enlists Alfred to protect him from Bet Sykes and her criminal operation. However, the job takes a turn for the personal when Bet kidnaps Alfred's girlfriend Esme and demands Thomas in exchange for her safe return. Alfred quickly realizes that the mission has become do or die, and not just his life is on the line.

The 10-episode, hour-long drama series from Warner Horizon Scripted Television is based on DC characters created by Bob Kane with Bill Finger. It follows Bruce Wayne’s legendary butler, Alfred Pennyworth (Jack Bannon), a former British SAS soldier in his 20s, who forms a security company and goes to work with a young billionaire Thomas Wayne (Ben Aldridge), who’s not yet Bruce’s father, in 1960s London.
Developed by former Gotham collaborators Bruno Heller and Danny Cannon, Pennyworth stars Jack Bannon as Alfred Pennyworth, Ben Aldridge as Thomas Wayne, Jason Flemyng as Lord Harwood, Paloma Faith as Bet Sykes, Ryan Fletcher as Dave Boy, Hainsley Lloyd Bennett as Bazza and Jessica Ellerby as the Queen. The series debuts July 28 at 9 pm ET/PT on EPIX.
