Alfred might have to find some common ground with his old nemesis Bet Sykes if he wants to exact revenge on Captain Curzon. In an exclusive clip from "Sandie Shaw," the next episode of Pennyworth, Alfred and Bet catch up over tea -- and quickly realize they fell for the same woman.

Of course, the conversation gets off to a frosty start. After all, Bet kidnapped Alfred's girlfriend Esme in the first episode, and then Alfred had Bet arrested shortly thereafter. In fact, she was supposed to be hanged to death, but her sister Peggy intervened. So, naturally, Alfred demanded to know how Bet was still alive.

Once Bet brushed this question off, she quickly got down to the nitty gritty and asked Alfred why Esme was killed. When Alfred admitted Curzon killed Esme as revenge for a slight during their army days, Bet revealed she too loved Esme -- and she blamed Alfred for her death. However, she is willing to work with Alfred to catch Curzon once and for all.
