Penny Dreadful: City of Angels' cast continues to grow, this time with the addition of Shadowhunters' Dominic Sherwood and Star Trek: Discovery's Ethan Peck, among others.

According to TVLine, Sherwood has been cast as "Kurt, the chauffeur and bodyguard for Richard Goss, who also possesses an unexpected depth and surprising background." Meanwhile, Peck will play "Herman Ackermann, the charismatic second-in-command at the German American Bund, whose aggressive politics, heated rhetoric and personal magnetism inevitably create tension within the group."

Other new additions to the cast include Adam Rodriguez (Criminal Minds), Michael Gladis (Mad Men), Lorenza Izzo (Feed the Beast) and Thomas Kretschmann (Dracula).

While the original Penny Dreadful series took place in Victorian London, City of Angels takes place in 1938 Los Angeles, where the city is shocked by a murder linked to Mexican folklore, Nazi spies and its own mysterious underpinnings. As Detective Tiago Vega (Daniel Zovatto) investigates the murder, he finds himself drawn deeper and deeper into the city's criminal and supernatural underworld.
