"Baywatch" isn't the only classic TV series getting a feature film makeover in 2017. After first getting the go-ahead way, way back in September 2014, the feature film reboot of "CHIPS" is finally cruising into theaters this spring.

The film focuses on the California Highway Patrol, specifically the team-up between one unlikely-yet-proficient motorcycle cop (Dax Shepard as Jon) and one undercover FBI agent (Michael Pena as Ponch). Like "Baywatch" and "21 Jump Street" before it, it looks like "CHIPS" will come packed with equal parts action and jokes. You can check out the full first trailer below, which features Shepard and Pena's cops getting too close for Ponch's comfort.

The original "CHIPS" series aired on NBC from 1977 to 1983, lasting six seasons and 139 episodes. The series starred Larry Wilcox and Erik Estrada as the motorcycle cops Jon and Ponch.

Written and directed by Dax Shepard, "CHIPS" also stars Shepard as Jon and Michael Pena as Ponch. The cast also includes Jessica McNamee, Adam Brody, Ryan Hansen, Vincent D'Onofrio, Jane Kaczmarek, Maya Rudolph and more. "CHIPS" rides into theaters on March 24.
