It's official: "Pee-wee's Big Holiday" is hitting Netflix instant streaming on March 18.

Along with announcing the premiere date, Netflix dropped the following teaser trailer for its original feature-length Pee-wee Herman movie -- the first pic starring the character since 1988 -- below:

At the TCA Press tour (via Variety), Apatow said of the project, "I love Pee-wee Herman, and I always wanted more Pee-wee Herman movies and TV shows so I’m very excited to see the film, which is really funny and silly and stays to the spirit of all his other work...[Paul Reubens] knows exactly what he wants to do and what the voice of that work is, so we tried to help in any way we can, but it really is a world he has invented. We’re just trying to help to make another one.”

Starring Paul Reubens ("Batman Returns") as his title character -- which he created in the '80s at The Groundlings -- along with Joe Manganiello ("True Blood," "Magic Mike XXL"), Jessica Pohly ("Stalker"), Alia Shawkat ("Arrested Development") and Stephanie Beatriz ("Brooklyn Nine-Nine"), "Pee-wee's Big Holiday" was written by Paul Rust ("Love"), produced by Rust and Judd Apatow ("Trainwreck"), and directed by John Lee ("Wonder Showzen").
