WARNING: The following article contains spoilers for the Season 1 finale of Peacemaker, streaming now on HBO Max.

Kimberley von Ilberg -- who portrayed Wonder Woman in the Season 1 finale of HBO Max's Peacemaker, standing in for Gal Gadot -- recently shared a behind-the-scenes photo of herself sporting the Princess of Themyscira's iconic armor.

On Instagram, von Ilberg posted a photo of herself wearing Wonder Woman's DC Extended Universe attire, as well as a photo of the door to her trailer, which is simply labeled as belonging to "Wonder Woman." "I've been wanting to post this photo since last May!!" she wrote "[Peacemaker] episode 8 is FINALLY OUT! COME ON WONDER WOMAN haha. Coolest gig by far!! Cant believe I was blessed to wear [Gal Gadot's] real wardrobe and hair. What is my life."

Peacemaker Season 1's eighth and final episode, "It's Cow or Never," surprised DCEU fans by featuring four members of the Justice League -- Superman, Aquaman, the Flash and Wonder Woman -- in its closing minutes. However, while veteran DCEU actors Jason Momoa and Ezra Miller reprised their roles as Aquaman and the Flash, respectively, Henry Cavill and Gal Gadot were not on hand. As such, Superman and Wonder Woman were played by body doubles.

von Ilberg stepped up to play Wonder Woman, while Brad Abramenko played the Man of Steel. Prior to suiting up as Wonder Woman in Peacemaker, von Ilberg played a minor role in the 2017 short film Consume. She also worked on the stunt team for the 2012 film Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Dog Days. Abramenko, meanwhile, has made minor appearances in other DC shows like Batwoman and The Flash.

Matt Turner was cast as the body double for Ben Affleck's Batman, though both the Dark Knight and Cyborg (played in the DCEU by Ray Fisher) were cut from the Peacemaker finale. Addressing these characters' exclusion from the big cameo, Peacemaker series creator James Gunn said, "You know, I don't know what I can -- there are reasons for it, but I'm actually uncertain whether I can say what those reasons are. It might have to do with future stuff."

At any rate, Gal Gadot first brought Wonder Woman to the DCEU in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016), subsequently reprising her role in Wonder Woman (2017), Justice League (2017), Wonder Woman 1984 (2020) and Zack Snyder's Justice League (2021). She is expected to return for a third solo Wonder Woman film, with Wonder Woman and 1984 director Patty Jenkins returning as well.
