As the Peacemaker show from The Suicide Squad director James Gunn prepares to start filming, the programs working title has been revealed.
According to The Ronin, Peacemaker has the working title The Scriptures. The site also notes that filming is meant to last from Jan. 18 through June 18 in Vancouver. This aligns with a recent tweet from James Gunn, who revealed he was beginning the two-week quarantine process in Canada before he began shooting Peacemaker.
Earlier this year, it was announced that writer and director James Gunn would helm a Peacemaker-centric spinoff series for HBO Max, writing all eight episodes and directing certain ones as well, including the pilot. John Cena will reprise the eponymous role from The Suicide Squad.
Peacemaker will explore the character's origins, though Gunn has pointed out that the show might not be a prequel to The Suicide Squad and could feature appearances from other Task Force X members. It will also see Steve Agee -- who serves as the on-set actor for King Shark in The Suicide Squad -- reprise his additional role from the film as Belle Reve warden John Economos. Gunn will produce Peacemaker alongside The Suicide Squad executive producer Peter Safran and lead actor Cena.
Written and produced by Gunn, Peacemaker stars John Cena as the titular character. The series will release on HBO Max at an unspecified date.
