Peacemaker creator James Gunn appears to have confirmed that fans of the DC Extended Universe-set HBO Max series can expect a physical release.

On Twitter, Gunn was asked by a fan if Peacemaker would receive a Blu-ray release. In response, the writer-director simply wrote "Hmmmm…" alongside a GIF of one of the show's main characters, Emilia Harcourt (Jennifer Holland), slowly cracking a smile. Using a photo of the character Adrian Chase/Vigilante (Freddie Stroma), another user pleaded with Gunn for a Peacemaker Blu-ray, to which he simply responded, "Ok."

Notably, there is currently a listing for Peacemaker on the official Blu-ray website. However, the listing only includes standard information like cast, crew, TV rating and a brief synopsis. It does not include any official box art -- instead only displaying the show's HBO Max poster -- nor does it provide a release date, North American or otherwise.

Amazon's United Kingdom marketplace also currently lists DVD and Blu-ray versions of Peacemaker Season 1, which are available for pre-order with an advertised release date of Sept. 5. Once again, however, there is no word on when a Peacemaker Blu-ray might hit shelves in the United States. It's not uncommon for American streaming shows to only be released on physical media in other territories, though it remains to be seen if that will be the case with Peacemaker.

A spinoff of Gunn's 2021 DCEU film The Suicide Squad, Peacemaker premiered on HBO Max earlier this year on Jan. 13, with Season 1 running for eight episodes through Feb. 17. The show sees The Suicide Squad star John Cena reprise his role as Christopher Smith/Peacemaker, a comic book character originally created by Joe Gill and Pat Boyette. A second season is currently in the works.

In addition to Cena, Holland and Stroma, Peacemaker Season 1 stars Danielle Brooks as Leota Adebayo, Chukwudi Iwuji as Clemson Murn, Steve Agee as John Economos and Robert Patrick as Auggie Smith/White Dragon. All eight episodes that make up the season were written by Gunn, who also directed five of them. The remaining three episodes were directed by Jody Hill, Rosemary Rodriguez and Brad Anderson, respectively.
