PlayStation exclusive Uncharted 4: A Thief's End may be getting a PC port sometime in the future.
The information comes via an official presentation released for Sony's "Investor Relations Day," which took place on May 27. The presentation offered an overview of PlayStation's financial growth and future. As a part of a section on new growth vectors, Uncharted 4 was listed under a header that read "More PC Releases Planned," suggesting that the game will be joining other PlayStation exclusive titles that have made their way from the console to PC. While the information has not been officially announced by Sony or Uncharted 4's developer, Naughty Dog, the inclusion of the game in the report suggests that a port is planned.
Uncharted 4: A Thief's End, which released in 2016 for the PlayStation 4, marked the fourth entry in the video game series. Spawning a standalone expansion (The Lost Legacy) and a feature film starring Tom Holland, the game was met with critical acclaim and went on to win several year-end accolades, including Game of the Year awards from multiple publications. The game had meant to serve as the conclusion to the series' story, though reports suggest a fifth Uncharted title may be on the way.
The series, being exclusive to PlayStation, has proven itself something of a poster child for the company, and with a potential port on the way, Uncharted's fanbase may continue to grow. The game would follow other PlayStation exclusive titles Horizon Zero Dawn, Detroit: Become Human and Days Gone in making their way to PC, with others to potentially be added, in following with Sony's efforts to distribute more PS4 titles to a larger audience.
Sony Interactive President Jim Ryan had previously called the move "a fairly straightforward decision" for the company to make, due to the relative ease of spreading the availability of the games in question. Sony's Investor Relations presentation seems to further confirm the success of the move, noting the "return on investment" of Horizon Zero Dawn having increased by 250% as of March 2022, in addition to the creation of new fans and targeting of new geographies.
It's not known if the other games in the Uncharted series will also make their way to PC at some point, but at the very least it seems Nathan Drake's cinematic and climactic conclusion will find its way there, according to Sony's presentation. Until then, fans should keep an eye out for an official confirmation of Uncharted 4: A Thief's End's move, which may shed more light on the details of the decision.
