Despite White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany's claims to the contrary, PAW Patrol is still airing. The Nickelodeon cartoon took to its official Twitter to issue a statement."No need to worry. PAW Patrol is not canceled," the official Tweet reads. A Nickelodeon spokesperson confirmed the news to CNN.RELATED: The Shield Producer Explains How the LAPD 'Bullied' the Series

McEnany had discussed the show during her White House briefing that morning. "We saw a few weeks ago that PAW Patrol, a cartoon show about cops, was canceled," she said. "The show Cops was canceled, Live PD was canceled. Lego halted the sales of their Lego City Police Station. It's really unfortunate." The news caused #PAWPatrol to trend on Twitter, which more than likely led to an official statement.

While PAW Patrol has not been officially canceled, it has fallen under scrutiny due to the murder of George Floyd at the hands of police officers. The cartoon focuses on the search and rescue efforts of the titular canine team; as the media's portrayal of police officers has been called into question, so has the show's depiction of police dog Chase.

When the Paw Patrol Twitter account posted a statement in support of the #amplifyblackvoices movement, it launched a wave of backlash.
