Paul Reubens Debuts as Penguin's Father in New "Gotham" Trailer

A new episode trailer for "Gotham." has landed, featuring an early look at Paul Reubens' role as Oswald Cobblepot's father.

Reubens will make his debut in next week's episode of "Gotham" titled "Mad Grey Dawn." Reuben's character, Elijah Van Dahl, will give Oswald the family he never knew he had.

Reubens previously played Penguin (Danny DeVito's) father in Tim Burton's "Batman Returns," back in 1992. While the film and Fox's "Gotham" are not technically a part of a shared universe, it's very cool to see Reubens back playing such an iconic role.

"Gordon and Bullock investigate a trail of clues left in a museum robbery, which, unbeknownst to them, were left by Nygma in a dangerous game of cat-and-mouse. Meanwhile, Gordon's past comes back to haunt him when an anonymous person threatens to expose his hand in Galavan's murder. Also, Penguin's visit to some old friends leads him to meet his father, Elijah Van Dalh (guest star Paul Reubens), and Bruce practices his street smarts."

"Gotham" airs Mondays on Fox at 8 p.m.
