Filmmaker Paul Feig has signed a first-look development deal with Universal Pictures, giving the studio the first decision on all projects made through Feig's production company FeigCo.
Feig, who previously directed Sony's 2016 Ghostbusters reboot, is currently helming the romantic comedy Last Christmas for Universal. In addition to the holiday-themed film, Feig is also producing the movies 24-7 and False Alarm for the studio through FeigCo.
"Paul is one of the most distinctive and versatile filmmakers working today, and we are thrilled to welcome him, Jessie Henderson, and the FeigCo team back to Universal," Universal Pictures President Peter Cramer said in a statement. "We know they will add to their impressive track record of creating successful films for global audiences that are full of Paul’s signature joy, wit, and heart, starting with Last Christmas in November.”
Prior to helming Ghostbusters, Feig directed the acclaimed comedy Bridesmaids for Universal as well as the The Heat and Spy for Fox.
Feig's next film, Last Christmas, is scheduled to be released in theaters everywhere on November 15. The romantic comedy stars Emilia Clarke and Henry Golding.
