Actor Paul Bettany notably helped to bring a popular film franchise character from the big screen to the the small one with Vision in the upcoming WandaVision series on Disney+. He recently expressed that he would be willing to do the same for the villainous character he played in Solo: A Star Wars Story.

In an interview with Jake's Takes, Bettany was asked which character he would be interested in exploring more deeply in a television series. The actor brought up Dryden Vos, the Crimson Dawn crime lord that appeared in the 2018 Star Wars anthology film. He stated, "I would love to mess around with Dryden Vos... I love that idea."

Dryden Vos served as the primary antagonist in Solo: A Star Wars Story, who sends Han Solo and Chewbacca, along with his top lieutenant and Solo's oldest friend, Qi'ra, to steal a shipment of coaxium as payment for a debt incurred by Solo's mentor, Beckett.

Bettany was cast as Vos following the departure of actor Michael K. Williams, who was unavailable for the necessary reshoots for the film. The character was originally intended to be a half-animal, half-human hybrid, for which Williams provided a motion-capture performance. The character ultimately appeared as a scarred near-human being.

Solo: A Star Wars Story was reportedly the first of a planned series of Star Wars anthology films. The film premiered in May 2018 and received mixed reviews upon release, with critics citing a lack of originality as well as a lack of significant stakes. However, many praised the film's cast, including star Alden Ehrenreich's performance as Han Solo and Donald Glover's performance as Lando Calrissian. Solo: A Star Wars Story grossed approximately $300 million worldwide on a budget of $393.2 million.

Paul Bettany will appear on television screens and mobile devices soon in WandaVision. The series will see the return of the android Vision, who seemingly perished in Avengers: Infinity War at the hands of Thanos, who sought the Mind Stone. Early reactions to the Disney+ series have been released, with many critics praising the series for balancing lighthearted humor with its dark undertones. The show's nine episodes will be released weekly, though the first two WandaVision episodes will be released at premiere.

Written by Jac Schaeffer and directed by Matt Shakman, WandaVision stars Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch, Paul Bettany as Vision, Randall Park as Agent Jimmy Woo, Kat Dennings as Darcy Lewis, Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau and Kathryn Hahn as Agnes. The series premieres Jan. 15 on Disney+.
