Wonder Woman was released in 2017 to an impressive box office and fantastic critical reception. The first solo film for one of the most recognizable female superheroes, Wonder Woman's success marked a turning point for one of the world's most popular film genres.
Excitement has been building for the follow-up to that film, Wonder Woman 1984, and wherever director Patty Jenkins takes the character. Now, it seems like Jenkins knows what she wants to do with the character in a proposed third film.

Speaking with Vanity Fair about her new television series, I Am the Night, Jenkins also mentioned other projects she's looking forward to tackling. One of them seems to be Wonder Woman 3, although it sounds like she hasn't been locked in as the director for the potential sequel quite yet.
"I have pretty clear plans for Wonder Woman 3,” said Jenkins. “Whether I [direct] it or not, I see how her arc should end in my incarnation of Wonder Woman. I have great passion for that.”
Gadot will reprise her role as Diana Prince/Wonder Woman in Patty Jenkins' Wonder Woman 1984. That movie also stars Chris Pine as Steve Trevor, Kristen Wiig as Barbara Minerva/Cheetah, Pedro Pascal and Natasha Rothwell. The film opens Jun. 5, 2020.
